An OMP direct fit subframe for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6. Part number HC803.

The Evo 6, including the Tommi Makinen Edition, which is the one everybody wants and which has gone somewhere serious on price.

Keep the factory Recaros

Particularly on a Makinen. The standard seats are part of what the car is worth and they are hard to replace. This frame bolts to the factory mounting points, so they come out whole and go back in when the car changes hands. Store them and their fixings somewhere dry and label them.

Note also that a factory Recaro will not bolt to OMP side mounts, because Recaro use their own arrangement. If you are keeping the originals for later, that does not matter; if you were hoping to reuse them, it does.

What else you need

Side mounts and the seat. OMP frames carry two bolt patterns rather than one. 345mm by 271mm is the spacing Sparco, OMP and Corbeau base mount seats all use, and 405mm by 290mm is Recaro, so an OMP frame takes a Recaro where a Sparco frame will not. Cobra work to their own 291mm by 330mm spacing, so a Cobra seat needs multi hole side mounts.

Order twice for a pair. Tell us the seat and we will confirm the combination.

Evo generations do not share mounting points, so check yours is a 6 before ordering.

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points.

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Will this fit my car?
This frame is made for the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 6. Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Which seats does it take?
It takes seats drilled 345mm x 271mm (the Sparco and OMP seat pattern) and 405mm x 290mm (the Recaro seat pattern). If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on OMP frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
This is a base-mount frame: the seat bolts down through its base, the simpler stack that suits seats with a flat bottom and keeps the install low-fuss. Our guide on base mount versus side mount explains the whole fitting stack.

Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.

OMP deliveries arrive every two weeks

OMP produce in batches and we receive their products on a fortnightly basis, so their most popular seats, harnesses and equipment are generally available for quick dispatch.

Reclining sport seats and less common trims are brought in to order, so those take longer.
