The Vauxhall Cavalier Mk1 and Mk2 cover two distinct generations: the Mk1 ran from 1975 to 1981 as a rebadged Opel Ascona B and Manta B, and the Mk2 followed from 1981 to 1988 on the GM T platform. Both are now firmly in the historic and classic competition categories, and both see use in regularity rallies, historic sprints, and concours events. The floor geometry differs between Mk1 and Mk2 but the combined sub-frame listed here covers both platforms, which Corbeau have confirmed to their specification.

This sub-frame uses the floor fixing positions common to the Mk1 and Mk2 Cavalier, working from the original bolt points rather than drilling into floor steel that may be 40 to 50 years old. On a car of this age, preserving the structural integrity of the floor is a genuine concern during any seat installation. The kit may be a complete replacement frame or an adaptation bracket set depending on the specific configuration.

For base-mounted and reclining sport seats only. Side-mounted FIA race seats require separate hardware. Priced at £245 exc. VAT per seat position. Order twice for both sides. Note the Corbeau seat model in the checkout comments and we will confirm the fit before dispatch.

What will be in the box? There are several types of seat frames which may be supplied depending on the vehicle and application. You may receive 1 of the following 4 types. If you are using them with a certain seat, please contact us in advance for professional advice.

#1. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner and resisitor kit
#2. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner
#3. A full replacement frame only
#4. An adaption bracket kit

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points. 

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Will I fit in this seat?

What do I need to fit it to my car?
The car-specific frame for your vehicle, plus a sliding runner if you want fore-and-aft adjustment. Our guide on base mount versus side mount walks through the whole stack, and tell us your car and we will quote the full kit.

How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?

FIA bucket seats are built to order, typically 3 to 7 days from the day you order. Kevlar and carbon shells take longer, so ask us if you are working to a date.

Reclining sport seats are also made to order in your chosen trim, and run to a similar timescale.
