The Opel Omega A ran from 1986 to 1993 as a large rear-wheel-drive saloon on the GM V platform. The 3000 GSi and the 3.0-litre Lotus Omega are the performance variants, though even the standard Omega A 2.0i 16V is a fast car in period terms. The Lotus Omega in particular developed into a serious performance vehicle capable of over 170mph, and any Omega A with a modified drivetrain sees use in sprint and hillclimb events. The rear-wheel-drive layout means the transmission tunnel runs the full length of the floor, which affects how the seat sits relative to the centre of the car.

This Corbeau sub-frame is designed for the Omega A’s floor fixing positions. The rear-wheel-drive transmission tunnel in the Omega A places the floor mounts in a different configuration from front-wheel-drive cars of the same era. The kit uses the original bolt points and places the Corbeau seat correctly for this floor geometry. The configuration may be a complete replacement frame with sliding runner or adaptation brackets.

For base-mounted and reclining sport seats only. Side-mounted FIA race seats need different hardware. Priced at £245 exc. VAT per seat position. Order twice for both seats. Note the Corbeau seat model at checkout and we will confirm before dispatch.

What will be in the box? There are several types of seat frames which may be supplied depending on the vehicle and application. You may receive 1 of the following 4 types. If you are using them with a certain seat, please contact us in advance for professional advice.

#1. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner and resisitor kit
#2. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner
#3. A full replacement frame only
#4. An adaption bracket kit

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points. 

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Will I fit in this seat?

What do I need to fit it to my car?
The car-specific frame for your vehicle, plus a sliding runner if you want fore-and-aft adjustment. Our guide on base mount versus side mount walks through the whole stack, and tell us your car and we will quote the full kit.

How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?

FIA bucket seats are built to order, typically 3 to 7 days from the day you order. Kevlar and carbon shells take longer, so ask us if you are working to a date.

Reclining sport seats are also made to order in your chosen trim, and run to a similar timescale.
