The Type C is a fabric reclining seat styled on the Koenig K5000, a German sport seat that became a common sight in modified cars of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Part number SS44Z, £225 single, black fabric only. Weight is 12.7kg.
The Koenig K5000 profile is rounder and less aggressively bolstered than the RS6-II or the BS2. Where those seats push the shoulder wings out to hold the driver in harder, the Type C has a cleaner, more rounded shape. For a car where a period-correct look inside matters alongside the external build, the Type C is the closest thing in the range to what those late-90s modified cars had originally.
At £225, the Type C is the same price as the Eco Fabric (SS40, SS40L) and the K5 bucket. Against the Eco, the Type C uses the same 345mm x 280mm bolt pattern and the same all-heights, all-waist sizing; the difference is the shell profile. The Eco has a more conventional modern recliner shape. If the rounded Koenig-inspired look is the point, the Type C is the seat. If it is not, the Eco covers the same price point with three colour options.
