Two Auto Style GT Yellow Tartan seats (SS 85Y-X2), £562.50 the pair. Yellow and black tartan insert with black vinyl bolsters, two seats from the same production run. Tartan patterns are worth ordering as a pair because the colour depth and weave density can differ slightly between separate single orders, and the mismatch reads clearly when both seats are in the car. A pair listing eliminates that risk.
Yellow tartan is the boldest of the four GT Tartan colours and works best in a build where yellow is already present. It does not suit a subdued interior: it is an accent piece rather than a background detail. If yellow is already on the car, the tartan strengthens it. If yellow is not part of the build, one of the other colours is more likely to fit.
Reclining, 405mm x 280mm bolt pattern, steel frame, no headrest, all heights and sizes, sliders for both in the box. Fitting frames purchased additionally. 4-point harness compatible. The Blue (SS 85B-X2), Grey (SS 85G-X2) and Red (SS 85R-X2) tartan pairs are available at the same price. No FIA competition approval.
Have you written anything about this exact product?
Yes, we have covered this exact product: Discover the Auto Style Type AK Reclining Sports Seat, and Auto Style Type Classic Bucket Seats Now Available to View In-Store. That is first-hand coverage from our own builds and showroom, not brochure copy.
Will I fit in this seat?
The maker lists no driver size restriction on this seat, so it suits the full range of heights and waists. Those are the paper numbers; how a seat actually feels to sit in and climb out of is a different question, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call us with your height and waist and we will give you the honest answer.
What do I need to fit it to my car?
You need the car-specific frame for your vehicle, plus a sliding runner for fore-and-aft adjustment. Tell us your car and we will quote the complete fitting kit in one go. Our sliding runner guide covers the adjustment side.
Does it recline like a normal seat, and what about armrests?
Yes, the backrest reclines, which is the whole point of a sport recliner over a fixed bucket: support in the corners, comfort on the motorway, and access to rear seats. Armrests: not fitted on this model. Our recliner lineup comparison shows how the ranges stack up.
I am a bigger driver. Will it work for me?
Possibly, and it depends on the exact shell rather than the brand. We wrote a straight-talking guide on sport recliners for larger drivers from real showroom fittings, and if you send us your waist and height we will tell you honestly which recliners work at your size.
