Mazda MX-5 Mk1 Fitted With OMP Champ-R Bucket Seats

One of our customers has fitted a pair of OMP Champ-R bucket seats to their green Mazda MX-5 Mk1, mounted on Endurance Motorsport side mounts made for the car. With OMP harnesses and a roll bar behind, it is a tidy set up in a small cockpit.
We have tried this seat and mount combination in our showroom, and it is now available as a package on our online store, with a discount already applied.

The customer's MX-5
The MX-5 Mk1 has a small cabin, so the seat choice matters. Our customer went for a pair of OMP Champ-R seats, and they sit well in the car. They used Endurance Motorsport side mounts to install them, and a small amount of re-drilling was needed to get everything lined up.
The seats are paired with black OMP harnesses, with a roll bar behind them.
The OMP Champ-R
The Champ-R is a fibreglass bucket seat with a rigid but light shell, which suits a wide range of competition cars. It is designed to be comfortable, with removable lumbar and leg supports so the fit can be adjusted.
Its side bolsters are medium height, giving secure lateral support without being hard to get in and out of. It is HANS compatible and FIA approved, to FIA 8855-1999, which keeps it usable if the car moves into competition. Five harness slots mean a wide choice of harnesses will work with it.
The Endurance side mounts
The Endurance Motorsport JB side mounts are made specifically for the MX-5 Mk1, which is what makes them a secure way to fit a side mount seat to this car. The mounts line up with the bolt pattern on the sides of the Champ-R, and they are multi drilled so the height and tilt can be set for the best driving position.
They are a good option for anyone after a low seating position with room to adjust the angle.
