Lotus Elise S2 bucket seat guide
S2, 2000/2001 to 2010
Corbeau make a range of bucket seats built specifically for the Elise, fitting directly onto the factory EliseVX subframe with no separate subframe to buy. The choice between them comes down to how the car is used, from a road-focused shell to fully carbon.
If you are fitting a roll cage, check your engine first. Safety Devices build separate cages for the K Series engine and the later Toyota engine, and the mounting is not interchangeable between them.

Bucket seats
All of these fit directly onto the factory EliseVX subframe. The LE-X at £510 and LE-Standard at £530 are the accessible starting points, the LE-Standard trading some support for everyday comfort with removable centre cushions and optional pneumatic lumbar. The LE-Pro System 3 at £630 and System 5 at £710 step up in construction, with the LE-Pro range built from full carbon and designed for both road and track use. The LE-Pro System 1 at £550 sits alongside.

Bucket seats for the Elise S2Which bucket seat for a Lotus Elise S2
A fixed-back bucket holds you best and is what competition regulations expect, but it is harder to live with day to day. The LE-Standard at £530 gives up some of that support for a seat that stays comfortable on a long drive. The LE-Pro System 5 at £710 is the one to choose if you want the strongest support Corbeau offer for this fitting, with low side supports that still work as an everyday seat.
Roll cages
Check your engine before orderingSafety Devices build separate roll cages for the K Series engine and the later Toyota engine. The mounting is not interchangeable between them. Confirm which engine your S2 has before ordering.
For the K Series engine: the Bolt-In Rear Roll Cage at £806, or the full 6 Point Bolt-In Roll Cage at £1332.
For the Toyota engine, which also covers the Exige S2: the Rear Roll Cage at £806, or the full Roll Cage at £1332. The Bolt-In Roll Bar at £706 fits either engine.
All of these mount to the sills and replace the original roll hoop. Trim and bodywork modification is required, and the rear screen needs replacing with a Lexan sheet, not supplied. Not a DIY fit.

Harnesses
The Schroth Lotus II ASM 4-point at £341.47, also sold as a black pair at £682.94, is built specifically for the Elise fitting. The Schroth Lotus II-FE ASM 4-point at £420.76 is the upgraded version.
The Willans Silverstone 4×4 EXG FIA harness at £234.82, or as a pair at £584, uses a 3 inch shoulder and 2 inch lap strap.

Common questions
How do I know which engine my Elise S2 has?
Early S2s ran the Rover/MG K Series engine. From the 2004 facelift, Lotus switched to the Toyota 2ZZ-GE, also used in the Exige S2. Check your engine bay or ask us if you are not sure before ordering a cage.
Do the Corbeau seats need a separate subframe?
No. They fit directly onto the factory EliseVX subframe.
Is roll cage fitting a DIY job?
No. Trim and bodywork modification is required, and the rear screen needs replacing with a Lexan sheet, not supplied.
Can I use the Bolt-In Roll Bar on either engine?
Yes, that one fits both the K Series and Toyota-engined S2. It is the full rear cages that are engine-specific.
