We have added the Stern Performance rear seat delete kit for the Abarth 500 and 595 to our range. It takes out the rear bench and replaces it with a strut bar and a webbing net, with a carpet made for the Abarth to cover the floor behind the front seats.
The Abarth is a small, light car that a lot of owners take on track, and the rear seats are a good place to start saving weight. The kit, carpet, net and strut bar are all sold separately too.

What is on this page
What the Abarth kit is
A rear seat delete removes the rear bench and finishes the space it leaves, so the car looks purpose built. Stern’s kit, often called a clubsport kit, uses an aluminium strut bar across the car at the height of the old seat back, and a net made from seat belt style webbing that hangs beneath it and closes off the boot from the cabin.
Stern describe it as plug and play. The brackets fix to existing mounting points, such as the seat holder, the rear seat belt mounting or the side panel, and the net normally hooks onto the car’s own eyelets or Isofix points.
This car has the carbon bar option with a dark webbing net, sitting just behind the carbon-backed front seats. In a car as small as the Abarth, the kit keeps the back of the car tidy without taking up any of the cabin.
The standard bar is powder-coated aluminium in your choice of colour. The net came in black, blue or red, with other colours on request, and a red net suits the Abarth colours well.
The carpet and the separate parts
The Stern carpet is cut for the Abarth 500 and 595, with openings for anything that stands up from the floor. It has a velour surface, synthetic leather edging and decorative stitching, black as standard or a contrast colour on request, and a structured rubber underside that grips the floor and takes out some road noise.
Each part is also sold on its own. You can start with the bar and net, add the carpet later, or replace one piece without buying the whole kit again. When you order, tell us the exact model and year so we can confirm the parts before Stern make them.
Who makes them, and a note on harnesses
Stern Performance was founded in Kaltenkirchen, Germany, in 2017 and hand make every part there. They specialise in rear seat delete kits and cover a long list of hot hatches.
Many Abarth track cars also get bucket seats and harnesses. The Stern strut bar carries the net and is not sold as a harness mounting point, so harness straps need their own proper anchorage.
