Our Customer's Fiat Abarth 595 With Sparco R100 Martini Seats

Customer car, November 2024

This white Abarth 595 belongs to one of our customers, and it has just had a pair of Sparco R100 Martini Racing reclining seats fitted in place of the factory seats. The black vinyl, white stitching and Martini stripes across the shoulders look right at home in a small Italian hot hatch.

The 595 has a small cabin, so the seat has to be chosen with care. Here is why the R100 suits it, what it takes to fit a pair, and the R100 versions we have on offer.

  • Car: the customer's white Fiat Abarth 595
  • Seats: a pair of Sparco R100 Martini Racing reclining sport seats
  • Fitted on Sparco sub-frames made for the Abarth 595
  • Sparco sliding runners add fore and aft adjustment
  • The R100 has a tubular steel frame and slim bolsters for tight cabins
  • Suits all heights and a 32 to 36 inch waist

Why the R100 suits the Abarth 595

The 595 is a small car with a narrow cabin, and a seat with big side bolsters can end up tight against the door card or the centre console. The R100 is Sparco’s entry reclining sport seat, and its bolsters are deliberately slim, so it fits the smaller cockpits a wider seat would struggle in.

It still holds you better than the factory seat. The R100 is built on a tubular steel frame, it reclines so you can set the backrest where you want it, and it works with the standard seat belt, so the car stays easy to live with day to day. It suits drivers of all heights with a 32 to 36 inch waist.

The Martini Racing edition

The Martini Racing R100 is the same seat as the standard R100 underneath. What changes is the trim: black vinyl with contrast white stitching, Sparco logos on the headrest and cushion, and the Martini Racing stripes in dark blue, light blue and red across the shoulders.

In this car it works with the red mats, the carbon trim and the Abarth details already in the cabin. Vinyl is a practical choice too, as it wipes clean and copes well with getting in and out every day.

What it takes to fit a pair

The R100 is a base mount seat, so it needs a sub-frame to bolt it into the car. Sparco make direct fit sub-frames for the Abarth 595. Each one bolts into the car’s own floor mounting points in place of the standard seat runners, with a version for each side of the car, so a pair of seats needs one of each.

Between the frame and the seat go Sparco sliding runners, one kit per seat. They give the seat fore and aft adjustment, so each driver can set their own position. The runners are made for road and track day use, not for FIA competition.

Garreth’s advice is to order the seats, frames and runners together so we can check every part is right for the car before anything is sent. There is more detail in our guide to an R100 package for the Abarth 595.

The Sparco R100 range

The Martini edition is one of several R100 versions we offer, with fabric and vinyl trims alongside it, and we had black fabric and black vinyl R100s on display in the showroom so people could sit in one before buying. Pairs of R100 seats were also on our fast dispatch page, which lists seats ready to go.

If you are thinking about the same change for your own Abarth, send us a message or give us a call and we will talk through the seat, the frames and the runners for your car.
