Honda Integra Type R DC5 Recaro Seat Fitment
Seat fitting guide
The Honda Integra Type R DC5 left the factory with red Recaro reclining seats, and plenty of them now go into other cars. The reason is simple: the DC5 seats use a Recaro aftermarket style base bolt pattern, so they can go onto Recaro fitting kits in a way most factory seats cannot.
This guide covers what the DC5 seats bolt to, the fitting kits and runners we would look at, and the seats we suggest if you like the look but cannot find a used pair.
- The DC5 Type R came with Recaro reclining seats from the factory
- They use a 405mm wide Recaro base pattern, like the Recaro Sportster CS
- That lets them sit on Recaro fitting kits and 405mm Recaro runners
- Most other factory fitted Recaros do not transfer this way
- New alternatives: the Cobra Daytona and the Corbeau Sportline RRS Elite

Why the DC5 seats transfer so well
Most seats that come factory fitted in a car are built around that car’s own floor mounts, so they are hard to move into anything else. The DC5 Type R Recaros are different. Their base uses a Recaro aftermarket style bolt pattern, 405mm wide, which is the same width as the Recaro Sportster CS reclining seat. The Sportster CS listing gives its full pattern as 405mm by 290mm.
That is what makes them popular. Once a seat has a known aftermarket pattern, it can go onto Recaro’s own fitting kits and runners, and there are kits for a great many cars.
This does not apply to every factory Recaro. Many seats fitted by car makers use their own mounting arrangement and will not bolt to aftermarket kits this way. Before you buy a used pair of any factory Recaros for another car, measure the base holes, front to back and side to side, and send us the numbers.
The seats themselves are reclining sport seats with a belt slot in the headrest, in red fabric. Because they recline and use the standard seat belt, they suit road cars and fast road builds.
If you are buying a used set, check the condition of the recline mechanism and the fabric on the side bolsters, which take the wear getting in and out.

Fitting kits and runners
The fitting stack for a base mount seat is the same in most cars: a frame that bolts to the floor, runners on the frame, and the seat on the runners. For DC5 seats there are two routes.
Recaro fitting kits. Recaro make direct fit frames for a wide range of cars. With the DC5 seats on a 405mm pattern, a Recaro kit for the car they are going into is the natural first choice, used with Recaro double locking sliding runners, which lock on both rails and hold the seat square under braking. The Endurance Motorsport Recaro compatible runner kit is another option; it is made to Recaro’s 405mm bottom spacing, which a generic runner will not match without drilling.
Planted Technology frames. Planted brackets are car specific and have many bolting points, which makes them compatible with most base mount seats, and the 405mm pattern of the DC5 seats works with them. There are Planted brackets for hundreds of cars. Pair one with Recaro runners and the seats drop on.
Runners add a little height, so check headroom if you wear a helmet in a low car. Our guides on seat bolt patterns and fitting Recaro SR seats in a UK car go into more detail.

New seats with a similar look
Good used DC5 seats are getting harder to find. If you like the shape but cannot track down a pair, the Cobra Daytona and the Corbeau Sportline RRS Elite are reclining sport seats in a similar style, and both can be trimmed in colours that suit a red interior. Both use a different bolt pattern from the DC5 seats, 291mm by 330mm on the Daytona and 291 by 330 or 345 by 271 on the RRS Elite, so they need the frame made for that seat and your car.
The Recaro Sportster CS is the other obvious choice, sharing the 405mm Recaro width. Garreth’s advice with any of these is to tell us the car and your height and waist first, so we can confirm the seat, the frame and the runners together.
Will DC5 Type R Recaro seats fit another car?
Often, yes. They use a 405mm wide Recaro base pattern, so they can go onto Recaro fitting kits and runners made for many cars.
What bolt pattern do DC5 Recaro seats use?
A Recaro aftermarket style base pattern 405mm wide, the same width as the Recaro Sportster CS. Measure your pair to confirm before ordering.
Do all factory Recaro seats fit other cars this way?
No. Many factory fitted Recaros use the car maker’s own mounting and will not bolt to aftermarket kits.
Can I use a Planted frame for DC5 seats?
Yes. Planted brackets have many bolting points and suit most base mount seats, including the 405mm DC5 pattern.
What new seats look like the DC5 Recaros?
The Cobra Daytona and the Corbeau Sportline RRS Elite are similar reclining sport seats, on their own frames.
