Customer Car Fitted With Corbeau Seats
Customer car, September 2022
We supplied this customer with a pair of Corbeau RRS Elite reclining sport seats, and here they are fitted in the car. The Elite is the top trim of the Corbeau RRS, and this pair has a two tone black and white finish with diamond stitching.
They look superb in the car. The white matches the car's paint and the black matches the rest of the interior trim. Here is how they were fitted, and what makes the RRS Elite a popular choice.

The finished car
The black and white trim suits this car very well. The white panels pick up the paint colour and the black matches the dashboard and door cards, so the seats look as if they belong there.
The RRS has proper shoulder and thigh support, so the driver is held in place through corners without having to brace against the seat. That makes a spirited drive more enjoyable and less of a workout, while the seat still reclines for everyday use.

How they were fitted
The seats were fitted on Corbeau direct fit sub-frames. These are made for particular cars, so they bolt to the car’s own floor mounting points and line up with the fitting points on the Corbeau seat, with no extra fabrication.
Because the RRS is a reclining seat, it mounts from its base. That meant only a base frame and sliding runners were needed, with no side mounts. Using a frame made for the car and the seat is the key to a safe installation: it holds the seat firmly in place, which is exactly what you need in a collision. Our guide to base and side mounting explains the difference.
The Corbeau RRS Elite
The RRS is the flagship of Corbeau’s Sportline reclining range, and the Elite is its premium version. It keeps everything that makes the RRS popular and adds an upgraded trim, so the seat looks as good as it feels. It has firm but comfortable support, with shoulder and thigh bolsters, and it tilts forward for rear seat access.
There are many versions of the RRS, with different stitching and trims, and the Elite and the Tartan Edition are two of our favourites. The RRS is also available as an office seat.

Adding a harness
Corbeau also make LUKE harnesses, in road and FIA versions. With a reclining seat like the RRS, we recommend a 4 point harness or less, because reclining seats do not have the harness slots for belts with more mounting points. Our post on LUKE harnesses explains the range. Garreth’s advice is to tell us the car before ordering, so we can match the right Corbeau frame to the seat.
