Customer Car: BMW E39 With Bucket Seats Fitted Using Planted Technology Subframes
One of our recent customer builds involved upgrading the front seats in a BMW 5 Series E39 using Planted Technology seat brackets, and the results speak for themselves. “The seat brackets work great and fit perfectly, only thing I had to do is drill two holes up front in each bracket as my seat rails were about 1cm shy of reaching the holes in the rails, other than that everything was perfect and also they were very easy to install. Love the fact that they have ears to accommodate the standard BMW buckles and seat belts, as that made it so much simpler to install as well.”
The takeaway here is that while the Planted frame works brilliantly for most seats, the sliding runners our customer used were slightly off in length, which meant two small holes needed drilling. This isn’t uncommon when using non-standard runners, so we always recommend pairing Planted brackets with runners and side mounts we stock and know are compatible.
