Every Corbeau Tartan Reclining Seat, With The Dimensions And What A Pair Costs

Corbeau Tartan Edition, the recliners

Eight reclining seats in the blue tartan, and every single one of them is sold as a pair. That is not us bundling them up, it is how Corbeau sell their main reclining lines, so the prices on this page are for two seats.

Cameron makes the same point to everybody who rings about these. A recliner is not a lesser bucket seat, it is a different job: it drops its backrest, it tips forward for whoever is getting in the back, and you can still sit in it after two hundred miles. Garreth would add that if none of that matters to you, you want the competition shells instead.

  • Eight seats, and every price on this page is for a PAIR
  • From £1,056.00 to £2,460.00 inc VAT for two seats
  • All base mount, all reclining, all road and track rather than FIA
  • Heights run 88cm to 94cm, so check your roofline before the tape measure comes out
  • The SVR holds you the tightest, the PSR the loosest, and that is the real choice
  • Corbeau publish no dimensions at all for the RRB or the Dakota Leather
  • Eight tartans to choose from, not one. The blue in the photographs is Weir Ancient

A recliner still tips forward and still lets you drop the backrest, which is the whole reason to pick one over a fixed shell for a car that does miles.

Why every price here is for two seats

Corbeau sell their main reclining lines as pairs only. Single seats exist in their system but they are not offered, so a Tartan RRS is £1,704.00 and that buys you two of them, one for each side.

It catches people out when they compare a pair price against a single bucket seat and conclude the recliners are enormously dear. Halve it before you compare, and the picture changes.

Reading a Corbeau dimension drawing

Corbeau letter every dimension drawing A to G and never print a key, so this is ours. It is the same set of letters used on the motorsport guide.

What Corbeau mean by A to G

From the front

CDFGE

From the side

CAB

The seven letters

  • A Overall depth, front to back
  • B Base length on the floor
  • C Overall height
  • D Head aperture, between the wings
  • E Cushion width
  • F Shoulder width at the widest point
  • G Hip width

Corbeau letter their dimension drawings A to G and never print a key, so this is ours, drawn on a real elevation of a competition shell and not on a sketch. The seat is a generic bucket used to show what the letters mean, not any one model. The two that grow on an XL are E and G, the cushion and the hips, which is why the size choice is a waist measurement and not a height one.

How much they hold you

On a recliner the head aperture is not about helmets, it is about how far the seat comes round your shoulders. A narrow figure means a deep wrap around shell, a wide one means an open, upright back you can get in and out of without thinking.

The SVR at 24cm is the most sculpted thing here. The PSR at 39cm is the most relaxed, and it is also the cheapest and the lowest. Those two are the ends of the range and everything else sits between them.

A small figure is a seat that holds you. A big one is a seat you step into. Neither is better, they are different cars and different drivers. The RRB and the Dakota Leather are absent because Corbeau publish no drawing for either.

Prices are for two seats and include VAT, correct on 22 September 2026. The VLS Cloth and the VLS Vinyl are the same shell in two trims, so they carry the same figures. Corbeau publish nothing at all for the RRB or the Dakota Leather, so ring us on those two and we will measure a physical seat.

Which one, and why

Start with the car. If the roofline is tight, the PSR is 88cm and everything else is 90cm or more, with the RRS Low Base the tallest shell in the range at 94cm even though its base sits lower.

Then decide how much you want holding. The SVR and the RRS come furthest round the shoulders. The Boss Evo 2 sits in the middle. The PSR is the upright one, and in a car that does the school run as well as a track day that is not a compromise, it is the right answer.

Trim is the last decision and it is the one that moves the price most. The VLS in cloth is £1,428.00 the pair and the same shell in vinyl is £1,632.00. The Dakota Leather at £2,460.00 is the top of the range and it is a leather decision, not a shape one.

All of them are made to order in the tartan, so there is time to get it right. Ring Garreth, Cameron and the team on 0115 9893488 with the car, your height and your waist, or look through the whole Tartan Edition range and the rest of the Corbeau seats. The fixed back shells are on the motorsport guide.

The ones we get asked

Not in these lines. Corbeau sell their main reclining seats as pairs and the single listings are not offered. If you genuinely only need one side, ring us and we will tell you what is possible.

They are listed as four point compatible with slots in the backrest. They are not FIA competition shells, so if you are being scrutineered you want the fixed back range instead.

Yes. That is most of the reason to choose a recliner over a fixed shell in a three door car, along with being able to drop the backrest on a long run.

Because Corbeau do not publish a dimension drawing for either, and we will not invent figures for a seat somebody is buying on fit. Ring us on those two and we will measure one for you.

They are base mount, so they bolt down through the bottom of the seat onto a subframe cut for your car. No side mounts and no sliding rails unless you want them on top.

No, and this is the bit the photography hides. Every seat here is offered in EIGHT tartans: Blair Ancient, Boyd Modern, Earl Of St Andrews, MacFarlane Clan Ancient, MacKenzie Dress Modern, MacMillan Old Modern, Stewart Dress Modern and Weir Ancient. You pick the design when you order. The blue one in all the pictures is Weir Ancient, which is the one we shoot because it photographs best, and the cloth is on the centre panels of the backrest and the cushion with the rest left plain black.
