Cobra Nogaro Seats Updated For 2026

Seat range news, November 2025

The Cobra Nogaro has been one of the most asked about fixed back seats in our showroom for years, and heading into 2026 there is more choice in the range than there has ever been. The main addition is the Nogaro Club Sport Ebisu Edition, in red velour, which now sits on display beside the Club Sport and the Circuit.

The Nogaro's appeal has always been the balance: bucket seat support, but comfortable and easy enough to get in and out of that people drive on it every day. This post runs through the versions, the special editions, the sizes and how the seat is fitted.

  • Every full height Nogaro uses the same one piece shell: 910mm tall, 560mm wide, 490mm across the base
  • The Street has no harness slots; the Circuit and Club Sport take a 4 or 6 point harness
  • New to the display: the Nogaro Club Sport Ebisu Edition in red velour
  • Cobra list the shell for drivers over 6ft with a 32 to 36 inch waist
  • Road and Track approved, not FIA homologated
  • Side mount, using Cobra's Nogaro steel side mounts

The Nogaro range heading into 2026

Every full height Nogaro is built on the same one piece fibreglass shell, so the fit is predictable from one version to the next. What changes is the trim, the price and one important detail: whether there are harness slots.

  • Nogaro Street: no harness slots. Made for a car keeping its standard three point belt, which is most road cars.
  • Nogaro Circuit: harness slots for a 4 or 6 point belt, trimmed in Amalfi leather with a Dinamica suede centre, or a tartan centre, or one or two colour combinations.
  • Nogaro Club Sport: the same shell with harness slots, trimmed in cloth or velour. It is the entry point to the range and still harness ready.
  • Nogaro Club Sport Ebisu Edition: the Club Sport in red velour. A named edition, so you choose it for the look.

If there is any chance you will run a harness, choose a seat with slots. They cannot be added once the seat has been trimmed.

The Club Sport Ebisu Edition

The Ebisu Edition takes its name from the Ebisu circuit in Japan, well known in drifting, and it is aimed at drivers who want their interior to say that. Underneath it is the Club Sport: the same shell, the same harness slots, and the same fit. The difference is the red velour and the detailing.

It is hand trimmed in the UK and made to order, so allow four to six weeks. It is on display beside the black Club Sport, which is the easiest way to decide whether the red is for you.

Special editions made to order

Alongside the core range we can order a small set of special edition Nogaros. The 40th Edition, which marks Cobra’s fortieth year, has a carbon shell and a heritage look. The tartan editions put a retro tartan in the centre panels, which suits classic cars and restomods and anyone who wants the interior to have some character.

All of them use the same shell shape as the standard Nogaro, so the comfort, support and fitting are the same. They are made to order, not held in stock, and built to the trim you choose. Cobra seats are hand trimmed in the UK, so when you order a one or two colour fabric, vinyl, Amalfi or leather version, put the colours in the order notes and we will contact you to confirm the specification and design before the seat is built.

The three on our showroom display

  • Nogaro Club Sport, black velour. Clean and simple, with plenty of grip from the velour. A practical choice for road and track.
  • Nogaro Club Sport Ebisu Edition, red velour. The same shape as the Club Sport, with the bold red finish.
  • Nogaro Circuit, Amalfi and suede. The more premium feeling version, with hard wearing outer panels and a grippy suede centre.

Having them next to each other shows how much the trim changes the feel of the same seat. Garreth’s advice is to sit in the velour and the suede back to back before choosing, because the grip and the look are quite different. Pairs of seats we hold ready to go are on our fast dispatch page.

Size and fit

The Nogaro is slim outside, which is why it suits cars with tight cabins such as the Mazda MX-5, Honda S2000, BMW Z3, Toyota GT86 and VW Golf GTI. Every car and every mounting is different, so measure the space between the door card and the centre tunnel before you order, and ask us if you are unsure.

Cobra list the shell for drivers over 6ft with a 32 to 36 inch waist. The long backrest puts the harness slots above a tall driver’s shoulder line, which is where they should be, and something many shells do not manage. The low sides make it easier to get in and out than a full race seat, which matters on a car you use every day. Heated seat and inflatable lumbar support options are available on the Nogaro.

The whole Nogaro family is Road and Track approved and carries no FIA homologation. It suits fast road and track days. If you need an FIA seat for scrutineered competition, ask us about the Cobra FIA range, and our post comparing the Cobra Nogaro and the Recaro Pole Position covers one of the choices people weigh up.

Fitting a Nogaro

The Nogaro bolts through the sides of its shell, and it uses a different attachment from the rest of the Cobra range. Cobra’s Nogaro steel side mounts are cut to follow the shell, so the seat sits flush and can be set for height and angle. They are sold individually, so one seat takes two and a pair of seats takes four.

The side mounts then attach to a frame for your car, which is a separate part. So a Nogaro installation is three things: the seat, the side mounts and the frame. Tell us the car when you order the seat and we will price all three together and check they match, so you are not left with a third of the job.

The main addition is the Nogaro Club Sport Ebisu Edition in red velour, now on display beside the Club Sport and Circuit.

The Circuit and the Club Sport have slots for a 4 or 6 point harness. The Street has none, and slots cannot be added later.

No. The Nogaro range is Road and Track approved, for fast road and track days, not scrutineered competition.
