A pair of Cobra Nogaro Club Sport Ebisu Edition seats has just arrived in our showroom, and they are hard to miss. The Ebisu is the Nogaro trimmed all over in bright red velour, with the Cobra name stitched either on the back cushion or on the head cushion, whichever you prefer.
Underneath the colour it is the Nogaro Club Sport we know well: a slim fibreglass bucket with harness slots, built for fast road cars and track days. It suits a car where the interior is being done properly and the seats are meant to be seen, and the pair is now on display for anyone who wants to sit in one.

What the Ebisu Edition is
The Ebisu is a named edition of the Nogaro Club Sport, not a different seat. You choose it for the look: the whole seat is trimmed in red velour, from the head cushion to the leg bolsters, and it lifts a dark interior straight away. Cobra hand trim it in the UK to order.

The long backrest is part of the Nogaro’s appeal for taller drivers. Cobra cut it for drivers over six feet with a 32 to 36 inch waist, and it puts the harness slots above your shoulder line, which many shells do not manage for a tall driver.

Options when you order
As it is made to order, you can specify a few things at the time of ordering:
- Seat heating, for a car used through the winter
- Inflatable lumbar support, for more comfort on long drives
- Heating and lumbar together
- Logo position, on the back cushion as on our pair, or on the head cushion
Put your specification in the comments at checkout and we will confirm it with you before the seat is built. Allow four to six weeks for a made-to-order Nogaro.
Will the Nogaro fit your car?
The Nogaro is slim for a seat with this much support, which is why we see it in so many compact sports cars. Every full height Nogaro uses the same shell:

That narrow footprint is why the Nogaro is a popular choice for cars like the Mazda MX-5, Honda S2000, BMW Z3, GT86 and Golf GTI, where there is not much room between the door card and the tunnel. Send us your car and your measurements and we will tell you honestly how it will sit.
Fitting it properly
The Nogaro is a side mount seat and it is sold as the seat only. It bolts through the sides of its shell using its own geometry, so Cobra make side mounts cut specifically for it. They follow the curve of the fibreglass for a flush fit and give a range of height and angle positions to get the driving position right.
The lower ends of the side mounts then fix to a frame for your car. Seat, side mounts and frame are three separate items, and one seat takes two side mounts. Garreth’s advice is to tell us the car when you order the seat so we can price and check the whole installation together.
