How To Fit Corsa VXR Recaro Sportster Seats Into A BMW M240i F22: Frames, Brackets And Runners
A customer asked how to fit Corsa VXR Recaro Sportster seats into an F22 M240i, and which brackets and runners that takes. The short answer is one floor frame per seat, plus a runner if you want the seat to slide. The Recaro M240i sub-frame is built around Recaro's own side mounts, so for a factory Corsa seat we point you at the Planted or OMP frame first.

Planted bracket or OMP frame, then a runner if you want it to slide
£224.95inc VAT
Our first choice for a Corsa VXR seat is the Planted M240i bracket, because its listing names Corsa VXR seats.
- One frame per seat: the Planted bracket from £224.95 or the OMP frame from £144.50 inc VAT
- A floor bracket is fixed, so fore and aft movement needs a runner such as the Recaro double locking pair at £327.89
- The Recaro M240i sub-frame is £428.40 a side and needs Recaro side mounts, so it is not our route for a factory seat
- Send us photos of the underside of the Corsa seat before you order anything
What a Corsa VXR seat brings to the swap
The Corsa VXR seats are heavily based on the Recaro Sportster CS design. Our guide to transferring seats from a Corsa VXR says they use the same 405mm wide bolt pattern as Recaro aftermarket seats. That is why people ask whether a Recaro frame is the answer.
The Planted listing adds the caution. Factory Corsa VXR seats may need adapting even though they are based on the Sportster CS. A shared bolt-pattern width does not confirm the whole installation.
To Cameron, the 405mm means the bolts line up in one direction. It tells you nothing about the runner interface, the belt buckle or the finished height. He wants to see the underside of your seat before he says yes.
Floor to seat: what goes between the two
| Layer | What it is | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Floor | The seat mounting points the F22 left the factory with | The OMP and Recaro frames use them, so nothing is drilled |
| Frame or bracket | Car-specific: Planted, OMP or Recaro | One per seat, and handed on the Planted listing |
| Runner | Optional, gives fore and aft movement | A floor bracket is fixed without one |
| Seat | The Corsa VXR seat, 405mm pattern | Underside, buckle and height need checking |
Frame and runner details come from the Planted, OMP and Recaro listings.

Planted M240i bracket: our first route for a VXR seat
This listing is for the BMW 2 Series Coupe F22, including the M240i, and Planted lists the F22 under bracket family SB242. For Recaro sliders Planted specifies its Standard bolt-pattern bracket. That is the one to confirm when you order.
It is the only listing that names Corsa VXR seats, which is why Garreth’s tip is to pay the extra for it. It calls the Planted base our recommended platform and says the aftermarket Recaro double locking runner can assist. It also says no 25mm height saving is established for this seat and bracket together, and that Planted’s 3/4 inch slider figure is general guidance and not a measured F22 and VXR seating position.
The bracket is handed, so choose RHD driver side or RHD passenger side and order one for each seat.
- From £224.95 inc VAT per bracket
- F22 2 Series Coupe including the M240i, family SB242
- Standard bolt-pattern bracket for Recaro sliders
- RHD driver side or RHD passenger side

OMP M240i frame: the cheaper base mount
The OMP frame is a steel base mount that uses the floor mounting points already in the car. Nothing is drilled. The listing gives two bolt patterns: 345mm by 271mm for Sparco, OMP and Corbeau seats, and 405mm by 290mm for Recaro.
The listing names Recaro base mount seats among its compatible seats. It doesn’t mention Corsa VXR seats, so the Recaro pattern is worth asking us about, but the listing doesn’t promise it fits. The frame is sold singly, and the driver and passenger frames are the same design, so order twice for a pair.
- From £144.50 inc VAT per frame
- Part number HC848-M240i
- Base mount, steel, nothing drilled
- 405mm by 290mm pattern for Recaro

Should a Recaro-based seat go on the Recaro M240i frame?
Not for a factory Corsa seat, in our view. Recaro sub-frames are drawn for Recaro seats, and the Recaro listing says the seat does not bolt straight to the frame. Recaro side mounts go in between, and Recaro’s homologation covers the seat with its side mounts as a system.
Nothing on the listing says a factory Corsa seat suits that arrangement, so we do not offer it as the route. Garreth won’t start with a frame that needs side mounts the seat was never designed for. The money is better spent on the bracket the listing recommends.
The Recaro M240i Direct Fit Sub-frame is for the F22 coupe or F23 convertible with the B58 six, and the listing says the seat mounting is the F22’s. Say which body you have when you order. It bolts to the factory mounting points, so nothing is drilled.
The price is for one frame, so a passenger seat needs a second. The listing says to tell us the car and the Recaro seat and we will list the side mounts that complete it. The F22 listing at the same price says the Recaro frame for the 2 Series is also the one we list under the M2, M240i and F80 M3, because they share mounting points.
- £428.40 inc VAT for one frame
- Recaro side mounts needed, listed separately
- F22 coupe or F23 convertible, B58 six
- Bolts to the factory mounting points
Runners: if you want the seat to slide
A floor bracket is fixed, and a compatible runner is what gives you fore and aft adjustment, which matters a great deal on a car that more than one person drives.
Runners add a little height under the seat, so if a tall driver is going in a low coupe, Cameron wants to hear about it before you order.
The Recaro double locking runners are the pair the Planted listing mentions. A runner that locks on both rails holds the seat square under braking, where a single lock can let it creep or twist. The listing says this is the one to use on a Recaro shell going on track.
This listing is two pairs, enough for two seats, and the frames are separate.
- £327.89 inc VAT for two pairs
- One pair per seat
- Adds a little height under the seat
The Endurance Motorsport Recaro Compatible Runner Kit at £95.04 is cut to Recaro’s 405mm bottom bolt spacing and sits between the base mount and the seat. Its listing is written around Recaro competition seats. It does not say how many seats one kit covers, so ask us about both points before you order it.
The PCI M240i sliding sub frame has the slider built in, but it is a side mount design for competition buckets with side mounts, and a seat with a Recaro style base is a different job.
What a pair of seats costs to fit
| Route | Two frames | With Recaro double locking runners | Also needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Planted bracket | £449.90 | £777.79 | Check donor seat underside |
| OMP frame | £289.00 | £616.89 | Check donor seat underside |
| Recaro frame | £856.80 | Not totalled | Recaro side mounts, listed separately |
Prices are per the live listings. The runner pair is optional on the Planted and OMP routes.
If the Recaro pattern on the OMP frame matches your seats, the OMP route is £80.45 less per seat, or £160.90 for the pair.
If you have a question about your own seats, drop us an email or click to open a chat. Send photos of the underside. We’ll come back with the full list.
Common questions
Do I need the Recaro frame because the Corsa seat is based on a Recaro?
Not as a starting point. The Recaro frame needs Recaro side mounts between it and the seat, and nothing on its listing mentions a factory Corsa seat. The Planted bracket names Corsa VXR seats, so we start there.
Do I need runners?
Only if you want fore and aft movement, because the Planted listing says a floor bracket is fixed and a compatible runner provides the adjustment.
Do I order one frame or two?
One per seat: the Planted bracket is handed so you choose driver or passenger side, the OMP frame is sold singly and the Recaro price is for one frame.
Does the same parts list suit an F23 convertible?
The Recaro listing covers the F22 coupe or the F23 convertible on the same floor and asks you to say which body you have. The Planted listing is for the coupe. Tell us the body and we will confirm.
Will the seat sit lower than the standard one?
We can’t give you a figure, because the Planted listing says no height saving is established for this seat and bracket together and its 3/4 inch slider figure is general guidance only.
What should I check on the Corsa seat first?
The underside, the runner interface, the belt buckle, any electronics and the assembled seating height, because a matching 405mm width does not confirm the rest.
Is anything drilled?
Not on the OMP or Recaro frames, as their listings say they bolt to the factory mounting points. The Planted listing does not say either way. Ask us before you order.
What we would buy
Garreth
Garreth's top tip
I'd take the Planted M240i bracket at £224.95 a seat. It's the listing that names Corsa VXR seats and calls itself our recommended platform, so that's where I'd start. If the car's shared, add the Recaro double locking runners.
I wouldn't start with the Recaro frame at £428.40 a side. It needs side mounts on top, and a factory Corsa seat was never built for them.
Cameron
Cameron's fitting view
I'd turn the seat over before choosing anything. Photos of the underside are fine. What I'm looking for is whether it matches the 405mm by 290mm Recaro pattern on the OMP listing.
On price: if the pattern matches, the OMP frame saves £80.45 a seat, and I'd put that towards the runners. I won't call it until I've seen photos.
Not sure which frame suits your Corsa seats?
Tell us which Corsa the seats came from and send photos of the underside. Cally, our digital receptionist, takes your details, and Cameron comes back to you with the frame and runner list.
