Houndstooth is a period pattern rather than a modern one, and that is the point of it. It was a genuine trim on performance cars of the sixties and seventies, so on a Cobra shell it reads as correct rather than as decoration. Classic black and white check, let into the centre panel rather than printed.

580mm tall, 525mm wide, 460mm base, 600mm deep, at 8kg, matching the standard Roadster XL on every listed dimension. Cobra uses the Plus designation across several shells to denote a trim or feature addition rather than a shape change. Contact us before ordering if the specific distinction matters for your build.

This is the Cobra Roadster XL Plus shell in the houndstooth trim option, made to order. Houndstooth is a trim finish, it does not change the shape, approval or mounting of the standard Cobra Roadster XL Plus seat: base mount, same listed dimensions as the standard XL.

Will my existing frame or brackets still fit it?
Yes. The shell, shape and mounting are the same as the plain Cobra Roadster XL Plus, so any bracket, frame or fitting kit that suits the standard version fits this one too.

Will I fit in this seat?
Waist size and height are the maker's paper numbers. How a seat actually feels to sit in and climb out of is a different question, so call us with your height and waist and we will give you the honest answer.

Cobra seats are handcrafted in the UK

Each seat is built to the specification you choose, which is why the wait is what it is: on average around 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the trim and options.

Cobra do not allow queue jumping. Orders are produced in the order they are received, so the earlier yours is placed the earlier it is built.

Made to your specification

Because each seat is made for your order rather than picked off a shelf, a made-to-specification seat cannot be cancelled once it is in production, and our special order terms apply.
