Following the arrival of the new Motordrive range at GSM Performance, we’re pleased to showcase the Motordrive Club Pro and Pro Classic seats in all three available sizes at our showroom.
One of the biggest advantages of the Motordrive range is the variety of sizes available. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, Motordrive has developed its seats in Standard, Large, and XL sizes, helping a much wider range of drivers find the correct fit.
To demonstrate these size differences in person, we now have all three sizes available to view and compare at our showroom. Our display includes the Motordrive Club Pro in the Standard size, alongside the Pro Classic in both Large and XL sizes. Together, these three seats allow customers to compare the complete sizing range available across the Motordrive Club Pro collection.
Alongside our display seats, we also carry additional Motordrive stock at our showroom. We’ve recently introduced new paired product listings across the Motordrive range that show live stock levels, making it easier than ever to see which models are currently available for immediate dispatch or collection.
For drivers searching for an FIA-approved bucket seat, being able to compare three different sizes side by side can make a huge difference when selecting the correct seat for both comfort and safety.
When shopping online, it can be tempting to focus solely on the appearance of a seat. In reality, choosing the correct size is one of the most important parts of any seat purchase.
A motorsport seat should fit the driver properly around the hips, shoulders, and upper body. A seat that is too small can feel restrictive and uncomfortable, while a seat that is too large may not provide the support needed during hard cornering and braking.
The Motordrive range solves this problem by offering three different shell sizes that gradually increase in overall width and height. This allows drivers of different builds to achieve a much better fit without compromising safety or comfort.
Our showroom display makes these differences immediately obvious, helping customers quickly identify which size feels most natural for their body shape.
The Motordrive Club Pro is the foundation of the range and remains one of the most versatile FIA-approved bucket seats available.
Designed without integrated head supports, the Club Pro offers excellent support while remaining easier to access than larger head-supported seats. This makes it particularly popular for track day cars, rally builds, club motorsport projects, and performance road cars.
The seat uses a lightweight fibreglass shell construction combined with brushed fabric trim and suede-effect shoulder panels. Deep side bolsters and supportive shoulder sections help keep the driver securely positioned during spirited driving and competition use.
To support the launch of the Motordrive range, we’ve also introduced new paired listings across the collection that display live showroom stock levels.
Despite its motorsport focus, the Club Pro remains comfortable enough for extended driving sessions, making it an excellent all-round option.
Key features
The Pro Classic is based on the same shell design as the Club Pro but introduces several upgrades aimed at improving comfort and support.
The most noticeable differences are the additional lumbar support and the larger knee cushions. These upgrades help provide better lower back support and improved leg comfort, particularly during longer drives, endurance events, and extended track sessions.
When viewed side by side in our showroom, the differences between the two seats become much easier to appreciate. While the overall shell shape remains very similar, the additional padding changes both the appearance and feel of the seating position.
The Pro Classic is ideal for drivers who want all the support and safety of the Club Pro but prefer a more comfort-focused seating position.
Key features
One of the most useful aspects of our new display is the ability to compare all three Motordrive sizes in person.
As the sizing increases from Standard to Large and then XL, the seats become progressively wider and taller. This allows larger drivers to achieve a proper fit without compromising comfort or support.
The increased height is particularly important because it affects the position of the harness slots relative to the driver’s shoulders. A driver who is too tall for a Standard seat may find that the harness slots sit too low, while a larger shell can provide a much safer and more comfortable fit.
Having all three sizes available to test helps remove the guesswork and allows customers to quickly identify the size that best matches their build.
One of the biggest advantages of visiting our showroom is the ability to physically sit in and compare different seat sizes.
This becomes especially important when harnesses are involved. The harness slot openings on the back of the seat need to line up correctly with the driver’s shoulder height to ensure the harness belts run through the seat properly.
Ideally, the driver’s shoulders should sit in line with the centre of the harness slot openings. If the slots sit too high or too low, the harness straps may catch on the edges of the guides, creating an incorrect belt angle and reducing overall comfort.
Because the Standard, Large, and XL shells all feature different overall heights, having all three available to test gives drivers the best opportunity to find the correct fit.
For many customers, a quick test sit can answer questions that measurements alone simply cannot.

One of the biggest strengths of the Motordrive Club Pro and Pro Classic range is the availability of three different shell sizes. Rather than trying to make a single seat suit every driver, Motordrive has carefully scaled the dimensions of each model to cater for a much wider range of body shapes and heights.
As the sizes increase from Standard to Large and then XL, the seats become progressively wider around the shoulders and hips while also increasing in overall height. This allows taller and broader drivers to achieve a much better fit while maintaining the support and safety expected from an FIA-approved motorsport seat.
The increase in height is particularly important when considering harness fitment. A taller shell raises the harness slot position, helping keep the harness straps correctly aligned with the driver’s shoulders. This is one of the reasons we strongly recommend trying these seats in person whenever possible, as the correct shell height can make a significant difference to both comfort and safety.
From a vehicle fitment perspective, the Standard size is compact enough to fit most track cars, road cars, and rally builds without issue. The Large model remains relatively compact while offering additional room internally, making it a popular middle-ground option. The XL version provides the most space for larger drivers but naturally requires more room within the vehicle due to its increased shoulder width and overall shell dimensions.
The most compact seat in the range, making it ideal for slimmer drivers and vehicles with tighter cockpit space.
A great middle-ground option that offers more room around the shoulders and hips while still fitting comfortably into most vehicles.
The largest seat in the range, designed for broader and taller drivers who need the most interior space.
Having all three sizes on display at our showroom allows customers to quickly compare the fit, shoulder room, harness slot height, and overall comfort before making a decision. This makes it much easier to find the correct size for both the driver and the vehicle.
The Motordrive Club Pro and Pro Classic seats are both side-mounted bucket seats.
Each seat features the common 290 mm side mounting bolt pattern, allowing them to work with a huge range of aftermarket universal side mounts.
These side mounts can then be attached to vehicle-specific seat subframes or, in many motorsport applications, mounted directly to the floor or welded mounting structures.
A typical installation consists of:
Universal side mounts.
Vehicle-specific seat subframe or floor mounting setup.
Motordrive seat.
This simple mounting arrangement makes the seats suitable for everything from road cars and track day builds through to full competition vehicles.
One of the biggest strengths of the Motordrive range is its ability to cater for a much wider range of drivers than many traditional motorsport seats.
By offering Standard, Large, and XL sizes, along with both Club Pro and Pro Classic variations, Motordrive gives drivers the opportunity to find a seat that genuinely fits their body shape rather than settling for a compromise.
With all three sizes now available to compare in person at our showroom, customers can experience the differences for themselves and make a much more informed decision before purchasing.
For anyone considering a new FIA-approved motorsport seat, the Motordrive Club Pro and Pro Classic range is well worth a closer look.
