The Cobra Roadster SS in tartan, the lowest and widest shell in the Roadster family. Part number Cobra Roadster SS-Tartan.
The SS shell is 550mm tall, 540mm wide, 460mm base, 740mm deep. Weight 6.4kg. At 540mm outer width and 550mm height, this is the widest and shortest seat in the Roadster range.
The 550mm back height means the shell stops well below the driver’s shoulders. There is no head surround and no lateral containment above the seat base level. For open-top cars, kit cars, and vehicles where a taller bucket would obstruct rear vision or conflict with roll protection, the Roadster SS is the seat that stays out of the way. It is not a competition seat by height; it is a low-back bucket for applications where height is the constraint.
The 740mm depth is the deepest in the Roadster family, which affects footwell fit rather than occupant support. Trim is tartan with vinyl, black stitching. Eight tartan patterns: Blair Ancient, Boyd Modern, Earl of St Andrews, MacFarlane Clan Ancient, MacKenzie Dress Modern, MacMillan Old Modern, Stewart Dress Modern, and Weir Ancient. Made to order, four to six weeks. Driver or passenger side at checkout. Base mount, 291mm bolt pattern. No FIA approval. All heights and waist sizes. Seat only.
Within the Roadster range: the SR (227455) is narrower at 490mm with more lateral bolstering; the XL (227554) is taller at 580mm and narrower at 525mm. The SS is the choice when width and minimum back height are both the brief.
