Wet lay carbon, and what it buys

Wet lay is the hand laid carbon process, with the resin going in as the cloth is laid rather than being pre impregnated and cured under pressure. It gives a genuine carbon shell at a lower price than a pre preg autoclave part.

The gain over fibreglass is stiffness and appearance rather than a weight saving our data can evidence. Buy it for how it holds up under sustained load and how it looks, and ask us if a specific weight matters to your build.

The low back

700mm tall against 910mm for the full height Nogaros, at 7.5kg, and specified for drivers under 6ft.

That suits a low roofline or an open car. It is not the shell for a tall driver wanting harness slots above the shoulder line, which is the full height Nogaro’s job and the reason that one is recommended for over 6ft.

Signature is the finish

The trim treatment rather than the structure. Hand trimmed in the UK; tell us your specification at checkout and we will confirm it before the seat is made.

Fixed back, side mount only, harness slots for a 4 point belt, no head support. Road and Track approved rather than FIA homologated.

Will I fit in this seat?
The maker sizes this seat for drivers over 6ft in height with a 32in to 36in waist. Those are the paper numbers; how a seat actually feels to sit in is a different question, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call us and we will give you the honest answer.

Cobra seats are handcrafted in the UK

Each seat is built to the specification you choose, which is why the wait is what it is: on average around 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the trim and options.

Cobra do not allow queue jumping. Orders are produced in the order they are received, so the earlier yours is placed the earlier it is built.

Made to your specification

Because each seat is made for your order rather than picked off a shelf, a made-to-specification seat cannot be cancelled once it is in production, and our special order terms apply.
