The road Pole Position on Golf frames

The Pole Position ABE is the road-approved version of Recaro’s racing shell, with German type approval rather than an FIA label, in leather and suede. M2’s frames bolt to the Golf’s factory seat mounting points across three generations of the car. Together it is the seat and the fitting for a fast road Golf that is not going to be scrutineered.

Not for a race class

The listing is tagged FIA approved and the ABE seat is not; that tag is being corrected. If the Golf is going into a class that needs FIA 8855-1999, ask us about the same package with the FIA Pole Position instead.

What ships

Two M2 frames and the seat. The listing does not itemise the side mounts, so ring us and we will confirm what is in the package and the price as it stands before you order. Four of these have gone out after exactly that call.

Can I change parts of the package?
Usually, yes. If you want a different colour, size, or model for one piece of the bundle, get in touch before ordering and we will quote the package with the swap, keeping the bundle saving where we can.

Is everything in the package compatible?
Yes, that is the point of buying it as a package: the pieces are chosen to work together for the car named in the listing, rather than you matching bolt patterns and brackets yourself. If your car is a slightly different year or spec, tell us and we will check before you order.

Will I fit the seat in this package?
Send us your height and waist and we will confirm against the seat in the bundle. Paper dimensions only tell half the story, and the showroom team sit in these seats every day, so you get an honest answer rather than a chart reading.

Can I fit a Recaro road seat such as the Sportster CS or Speed to these M2 rails?
No. M2 Motorsport rails are made for side mounted seats, such as the Recaro Pole Position. Recaro road seats like the Sportster CS and Speed are not compatible and we do not recommend them on these rails.

Recaro seats are produced in batches for the UK market

We receive Recaro deliveries regularly and hold good stock of the popular models, so many go out quickly.

Demand for the bucket seats is worldwide and production runs to Recaro’s own schedule, so the less common models and trims can take considerably longer. Ask us and we will tell you where a specific seat stands.

Before you order

If you need a seat for a date, ring us first. We would rather give you an honest lead time up front than have you waiting on a seat that is between production runs.
