A pair of Cobra Nogaro Club Sport seats in a one piece fibreglass shell. Part number NOGC-GC-CS-BK-X2B.
Both sides, and the Club Sport keeps the slots
The Club Sport is the entry point to the fibreglass Nogaro range and it retains the harness slots that the Street does not have. Cheapest in the range and still harness ready is an unusual combination, and it is why this pair makes sense for a car being built properly on a budget.
What you give up against the Circuit is the trim: cloth or velour rather than Amalfi leather with Dinamica suede. On a car that gets used rather than admired that is the right trade.
Why the pair
Cobra hand trim these to order in the UK, so two seats on one order are trimmed together. Matching a colour across two orders months apart is possible and less reliable.
The shell
910mm tall, 560mm wide, 490mm across the base, 710mm deep, 7.9kg each. Side mount only, so both sides need side mounts and a subframe.
That 7.9kg is 3.5kg a seat lighter than the steel Monaco at 11.4kg, or 7kg across a pair. In a car used for track days or sprints where mass reduction is ongoing, that is worth having, and it is the practical argument for a fibreglass shell over a steel one.
Cut for drivers over 6ft with a 32 to 36 inch waist. Worth noting for a pair: if only one of you is tall, this shell may be more seat than the other person needs.
If your class needs FIA approval
The Nogaro family is Road and Track approved throughout and carries no FIA homologation, so it is not the shell for a scrutineered class. The Imola, Suzuka and Sebring all carry FIA 8855-1999. Tell us the class and we will point you at the right one.
Seats only. Tell us the car and we will match mounts for both sides.
Have you written anything about this exact product?
Yes, we have covered this exact product: Cobra Nogaro Club Sport Ebisu Edition Now on Display, and Introducing the Cobra Nogaro Club Sport Ebisu Edition. That is first-hand coverage from our own builds and showroom, not brochure copy, and How To Add More Lumbar Support To A Cobra Nogaro Bucket Seat.
Will I fit in this seat?
The maker sizes this seat for drivers over 6ft in height with a 32in to 36in waist. Those are the paper numbers; how a seat actually feels to sit in and climb out of is a different question, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call us with your height and waist and we will give you the honest answer. Worth knowing: the Nogaro suits drivers over 6ft particularly well, because its longer backrest puts the harness slots above a tall driver’s shoulder line instead of below it.
Is this seat FIA approved?
No, this is a road and track day seat rather than a homologated competition seat. For events that require an FIA seat, look at the FIA-approved shells in the range, and ask us if you are unsure what your series needs.
Does it work with harnesses and a HANS device?
The shell takes 4 point compatible and 6 point compatible. If you are planning the full seat, harness, and HANS setup, tell us the car and we will spec it end to end.
How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Fair question, because makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike in the car. We keep the ranges on display in the Nottingham showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and if you cannot get to us, call and describe your build, as the team sit in these seats every day. Our head support measurements guide shows the kind of real-world data we collect.
Can I buy just one seat instead of the pair?
Yes. This listing is for two seats, but the Club Sport and the white-logo Ebisu Edition are both also listed as single seats, so you are not locked into buying two.
