Split back at no extra cost
A two piece backrest is priced the same as the solid version in every material. Only a two piece base costs more, so if your car folds its rear backrest, ordering the correct trim is not the expensive option.
Leather and a folding seat
Worth thinking about properly. A backrest that folds is a backrest that gets things put on it, and the back of a folded seat becomes a load floor. Leather is the material in this range least suited to that.
If the seat folds regularly for carrying things, vinyl is the sensible specification and it costs a good deal less. If it folds twice a year and the rest of the time it is a seat, leather is fine.
Where the sun gets it
The top of a rear backrest sits under the rear screen with nothing shading it, and that is where leather in a car dries and cracks first. Feeding it twice a year is what prevents that.
