The Takata Race Evo X Bucket Seat Package includes a Takata Race LE competition bucket seat with Evo X-specific side mount brackets and a Takata Drift III Snap-On harness. The Evo X (chassis code CZ4A) was produced from 2007 to 2016 and was the final generation of the Evolution series.

The Evo X replaced the long-running iron-block 4G63 with the aluminium 4B11, reducing powertrain weight and changing the engine’s character from the 4G63’s high-revving small-turbo delivery to a broader mid-range curve. Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) combined Active Centre Differential, Active Yaw Control, and ABS management into a single integrated torque vectoring system, making the Evo X significantly more electronically managed than any earlier Evolution. FQ360 and FQ400 special editions pushed the platform further still.

Mitsubishi confirmed the Evo X as the final Evolution in 2016 with no planned successor, giving remaining examples a different long-term value trajectory to earlier Evos that were followed by newer generations.

The Drift III harness in this package is Road and Track approved, not FIA competition legal. Package options at checkout: Seat Width (Standard or Excel Width), Sport Seat Position (RHD Driver Side or RHD Passenger Side), Webbing Colour (Black or Green).

What do I need to fit it to my car?

How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike. We keep the ranges on display in the showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and our head support measurements guide shows the kind of real-world data we collect.

Availability

The harnesses are stocked, the seats are not

Takata harnesses are produced in batches and we take deliveries weekly, so belts like the Drift III are generally kept in stock for fast dispatch.

Takata seats are a different matter. Each one is handmade to order to Takata specification and takes 4 to 8 weeks. They are not stocked items.

A seat built for your order falls under our special order terms. Tell us your date when you enquire and we will confirm the current production time.

In-store displays:

We have a premium range of over 125 seats from brands including: Bimarco, Cobra, Corbeau, Sparco, OMP, Recaro, GP-Race, and Bride to name just a few brands we work with.

Alongside this, we also stock and display HANS devices, harnesses, race-wear, race-suits, FIA helmets and various other safety equipment. If you are looking to visit us to see and try any particular seat or product, please contact us in advance and we’ll be happy to help.

In-Store appointments:

Due to the specialist nature of our services, we do ask that you please contact us in advance to book an appointment. We have multiple slots available each day including selected availability at the weekend.

Working by appointment allows us to dedicate our time with you and provide a personal and professional service. We’ll always ensure you leave with the right equipment for your needs.
