This Recaro sub-frame (part number 687119-1997) fits the Volkswagen LT. The LT was VW’s large panel van and minibus, produced in its later LT2 form from 1996 to 2006. Commercial vehicles of this size have a significantly higher cabin floor than a road car, and the driver’s seat position is correspondingly higher and more upright. The sub-frame uses the LT’s OEM floor mounting points with no modification to the vehicle.

A large commercial van such as the LT is a working environment, and the original seat reflects the cost pressures of a fleet vehicle. A Recaro seat on this sub-frame provides genuine lumbar and lateral support for drivers covering high mileage. Fore-aft runners are included. Fits Recaro base-mountable seats only. Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Which seats does it take?
Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Recaro frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Recaro seats are produced in batches for the UK market

We receive Recaro deliveries regularly and hold good stock of the popular models, so many go out quickly.

Demand for the bucket seats is worldwide and production runs to Recaro’s own schedule, so the less common models and trims can take considerably longer. Ask us and we will tell you where a specific seat stands.

Before you order

If you need a seat for a date, ring us first. We would rather give you an honest lead time up front than have you waiting on a seat that is between production runs.
