This Recaro sub-frame (part number 861517-1974) fits the Skoda Octavia first generation. The first-gen Octavia (1U platform) was produced from 1996 to 2010 in overlapping generations and used the Golf IV floorplan. The vRS variant with the 1.8T 180 bhp engine was a capable fast estate that performed well on road and track without the premium price of a Golf GTI. The sub-frame uses the Octavia Mk1’s OEM floor mounts with no drilling or modification.

The Golf IV platform underpins several cars in this catalogue, but the Octavia’s cabin is longer and the seat position differs from the Golf in its relationship to the B-pillar and seatbelt anchor. This sub-frame is built around the Octavia’s specific geometry rather than being a reuse of the Golf part. Fore-aft runners are included. Fits Recaro base-mountable seats only. One sub-frame, one seat position. Order twice for both sides and note your Recaro seat model at checkout.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Recaro frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Recaro seats are produced in batches for the UK market

We receive Recaro deliveries regularly and hold good stock of the popular models, so many go out quickly.

Demand for the bucket seats is worldwide and production runs to Recaro’s own schedule, so the less common models and trims can take considerably longer. Ask us and we will tell you where a specific seat stands.

Before you order

If you need a seat for a date, ring us first. We would rather give you an honest lead time up front than have you waiting on a seat that is between production runs.
