The Mercedes-Benz Vaneo (W414) was built from 2002 to 2005 as a compact van and people-carrier based on the A-Class W168 architecture. Its body sat significantly taller than a standard A-Class because it was designed to carry five or seven passengers with proper headroom throughout. The W414 chassis code links it clearly to the A-Class family, but the floor in the Vaneo’s front row differs from the A-Class because the raised body height changed the seat mounting height and angle.
Part number 868126 is the Recaro direct-fit sub-frame for the Vaneo. It attaches to the W414’s specific front floor fixing positions without drilling and provides fore-aft sliding travel. The Vaneo was marketed as a practical urban people-carrier and was not offered in performance trim, but the driver position benefits from a Recaro Sport or reclining seat on longer journeys in the same way any van-derived vehicle does.
The Vaneo was not a commercial success and was discontinued after three years. It is unusual enough on the road that a Recaro-specific sub-frame is worth confirming by part number before ordering, as generic catalogues may not list it.
This sub-frame fits Recaro seats only and covers base-mountable bucket seats and reclining sport seats. Side-mounted shells require different hardware. Pricing is for one frame, one seat. Contact us with your Recaro model and W414 chassis confirmation when ordering.
