The Volkswagen New Beetle ran from 1998 to 2010 on the Golf Mk4 platform and shared floor and running gear with the Golf, Bora, and Jetta of the same generation. The 1.8T in RSi trim produced 150bhp and the 3.2 V6 variant was the range-topper. The New Beetle is an unusual base for serious motorsport, but it does appear in autogymkhana and novelty class events, and the Golf Mk4 underpinnings respond to the same modifications that work on the Golf itself. The body architecture is unlike the Golf: the spare tyre lives in the nose rather than the boot, the front luggage space changes the weight distribution, and the rear body structure is its own design. These differences mean the floor fixing positions are specific to the New Beetle rather than transferable from a Golf Mk4 sub-frame.
This Corbeau sub-frame is matched to the New Beetle’s floor fixing layout. The kit uses the original bolt positions to place the Corbeau seat correctly without drilling. Depending on the configuration for this floor, the kit may be a complete replacement frame with sliding runner or an adaptation bracket arrangement.
