Toyota Supra MK4 With Sparco R333 Seats
Customer cars, April 2021
We supplied one of our customers with a pair of Sparco R333 reclining seats for their Toyota Supra Mk4, the A80. The seats went in on Planted Technology fitting frames made for the car, and they suit the Supra's cabin well.
The R333 has just been redesigned for 2021, and this is the latest version. Here is what makes it different, and how to fit a pair to a Mk4 Supra.

The Sparco R333
The R333 sits above the R100 in Sparco’s reclining range, and the 2021 redesign makes the difference obvious. The bolsters are deeper and more aggressive, the styling is sharper, and the recline uses a double adjustment lever with a rapid tilt.
It is a tubular steel framed seat that reclines like a road seat, but holds you much better through a corner. It takes a 3 or 4 point belt, comes in black, black and grey, or black and red, and suits drivers under 6ft with a 32 to 36 inch waist.
How they were fitted
A reclining seat like the R333 is base mounted. It bolts to a pair of sliding runners, and the runners bolt to a frame made for the car. For this Supra, the frame is a Planted Technology bracket for the 1993 to 1998 car, which picks up the factory seat mounting points so nothing is cut.
The Sparco runners share the R333's 345 by 271mm pattern, so the seat, the runners and the Planted bracket line up without any drilling.

Doing the same in your Supra
The choice of frame depends on the type of seat. For a reclining seat like the R333, use Sparco sliding runners with the Planted Technology bracket for the Mk4. For a fixed back bucket seat, we list M2 direct fit sub-frames for the JZA80 Supra, set up for side or base mounting.
A Mk4 Supra’s original interior is part of its value, so keep the factory seats and every fixing, labelled, somewhere dry. Garreth’s advice is to try the R333 against the R100 before you choose: the R100 is easier to live with every day, the R333 holds you better. Our guide to universal seat sliding runners explains the runner options.
