The Hyundai i30 N has joined our range of Stern Performance rear seat delete kits. The kit takes out the rear bench and puts a strut bar and a webbing net in its place, and a carpet made for the i30 N covers the floor behind the front seats.
You can order the complete kit, or the carpet, net and strut bar as separate parts. It is a popular change on a car that spends time on track, where the back seats are just extra weight.

What is on this page
What the i30 N kit does
A rear seat delete removes the rear bench and finishes the space properly, so the car looks built for the job and not half stripped. The Stern kit, often called a clubsport kit, has two main parts: an aluminium strut bar that runs across the car at the height of the old seat back, and a net made from seat belt style webbing that hangs beneath it and closes off the boot from the cabin.
Stern describe it as plug and play. The bar is held on brackets that use existing mounting points, such as the seat holder, the rear seat belt mounting or the side panel, and the net normally hooks onto the car’s own eyelets or Isofix points.
This i30 N shows the kit with a carbon bar and a grey net with red stitching. With the carpet fitted, the floor behind the front seats is one flat, trimmed area.
The strut bar is powder-coated aluminium in your choice of colour, or full carbon as an option. The net came in black, blue or red webbing, with other colours on request, so it can be matched to the car.
The carpet and the separate parts
The Stern carpet is cut for the i30 N, with openings for anything that stands up from the floor. It has a velour surface, synthetic leather edges and decorative stitching, black as standard or a contrast colour on request. The rubber underside grips the floor so the carpet stays put and takes some of the road noise out.
Each piece is sold on its own as well as in the kit. That makes it easy to start with the bar and net, add the carpet later, or replace one part without buying the whole set again.
Who makes them
Stern Performance was founded in Kaltenkirchen in northern Germany in 2017, and every part is handmade there. The company specialises in rear seat delete kits and makes them for a long list of hot hatches and sports cars, which is why the fit on each model is so neat.
