Steel Frame Bucket Seats

Fibreglass Bucket Seats

Both types can be fitted in the Fiesta ST150, but choosing the right mounting hardware is essential, especially for side-mounted fibreglass models.

Installation Guide – Choosing the Right Sub-Frame

To fit aftermarket bucket seats in your Ford Fiesta ST150, picking the correct sub-frame is essential. Each brand’s frame offers different bolt patterns that match specific seats. The Cobra sub-frame features a 291mm bolt pattern, ideal for base-mounted Cobra steel frame seats and recliners, but it’s not compatible with every other seat brand unless adapter brackets are used.

The OMP sub-frame offers even more flexibility with both 345mm and 405mm bolt patterns, which are common universal bolt patterns used by most aftermarket base and side-mounted seats. We recommend these OMP frames for larger XL bucket seats that need to use the wider 405mm bolt pattern, like the OMP WRC-XL or Sparco Evo XL.

OMP frames don’t provide any additional mounting points for your factory seat belt, as they are designed for pairing up with a racing harness for full motorsport use. If you want a sub-frame more road and track day friendly, and that you can use daily with a factory seat belt, you can either fabricate your own sub-frame with a seat belt mount or use the Cobra frame that provides the additional mount. Adaptation plates will be needed if it’s not a Cobra-branded seat. Whether you’re going for a slimline bucket or a wide racing seat, there’s a sub-frame to make your install as smooth and secure as possible.
