Stern Performance rear seat delete kits are now available for the Seat Leon 5F. The kit is made specifically for this model, and it replaces the rear seats with a strut bar and a net held in place by a bracket.
It gives the car an eye catching clubsport look and takes a useful amount of weight out: Stern put the saving at around 30kg for the Leon. You can buy the full kit, or the carpet, net and strut bar separately.

What the kit does
A rear seat delete takes the rear bench out of the car and finishes the space off properly. On the Leon, Stern’s kit puts a strut bar across the car where the seat back used to be, and a net made from seat belt style webbing hangs from it, closing off the gap between the cabin and the boot. A bracket holds it all in place.
The two reasons people fit one are the look and the weight. The kit is designed to catch the eye when the doors or boot are open, and Stern put the saving at approximately 30kg once the rear seats are out.
Colours and options
Every part of the kit is also sold on its own, so you can build it the way you want:
- Carpet: made to fit the Leon 5F, in black.
- Net: black and red as standard, with other colours available on request.
- Strut bar: a choice of up to eight colours, a colour of your own on request, or a full carbon fibre bar.
If you want the full look in one go, the complete rear seat delete kit brings all three together. Because everything is made to order, pick your colours before you order and allow a few weeks for production.
Stern Performance was founded in 2017 in Kaltenkirchen, just north of Hamburg, and their rear seat delete parts are handcrafted there by experienced tailors and upholsterers.
Stern describe their kits as plug and play, using the car's existing mounting points, so no drilling is needed.
Seats and harnesses
A rear seat delete often goes with bucket seats and harnesses up front. The Stern strut bar is there to carry the net and is not sold as a harness mounting point, so shoulder straps need their own proper anchorage.
