Weir Ancient is a Perthshire clan tartan with bottle green, navy, and red on a dark ground. The Ancient colourway uses softer, less fully saturated thread than the Modern equivalent, giving the pattern a muted, aged character rather than vivid primary colours. Width is 140cm. Weight is 415 grams per square metre (13oz per yard).
This is the same fabric used in Cobra and Corbeau’s tartan seat editions, sold separately for recovering existing seats, repairing worn centre panels, or building a custom interior that matches a specific clan. At 415g/m² it is upholstery-weight wool rather than dress fabric, and it will perform as an interior trim material over normal use.
One metre of 140cm fabric covers the centre panel of one seat with material remaining for cutting losses. Two metres typically covers the seat back and base panel in a full retrim, though actual requirements depend on the seat model and whether existing cushions are being reused. No foam, backing, or instructions are included.
