The TRS Spare Wheel Strap Adjustable (part number 23G510) is a motorsport-specific wheel securing strap rather than a cargo binder. The strap body is 25mm webbing, which is narrower than the 50mm lashing straps used for cargo, and is designed to lie flat across the tyre without lifting at the edges when a spare wheel is stored in a position where it would otherwise bounce on a gravel stage.

The mounting hardware is alloy half-moon fixing bases with a quick press-release stud mechanism. That allows the strap to be removed at a service point without unthreading it from the bases, and reinstalled without tools. Tightening is via a heavy-duty ratchet that sets the strap tension cleanly without over-tightening.

Fully adjustable to fit any wheel diameter combination. Three colour options: black, red and blue.

The fixed version of this strap is included in the TRS Magnum FIA Rally Pack (21C670). If you are buying the rally pack, the fixed spare wheel strap is already in it. The adjustable version here suits cars where the wheel size changes between events, or where the fixed strap length does not suit the particular mounting position.

At £39.50 this is noticeably more than a generic ratchet strap from a motor factor. The price reflects the alloy hardware and the quick-release mounting system. If you are securing a spare wheel in a standard boot and do not need the press-release mount, a general cargo strap will do the job at lower cost.

TRS harnesses are held in depth

TRS produce in batches and we take deliveries weekly, and we hold large stocks of their most popular models. Most orders go out the same day.

Less common models and colours are a different matter, and can take up to a few weeks.
