The TRS Lifting Sling (part number 08A0010) is a 1000kg-rated sling for use with an engine crane or overhead hoist. At £7.50 it is a small-ticket item that tends to get overlooked until someone needs to move an engine, a gearbox or a complete single-seater race car and finds that the hoist did not come with a sling that handles the geometry involved.
TRS does not publish a full specification for this sling including strap length and exact attachment configuration on their public-facing materials. The 1000kg working load limit is the figure we can confirm. If you are planning to lift an assembled race car rather than a bare engine, the rigging geometry matters: a single-seater lifted at poorly placed pick points can deform the chassis or drop the car. Contact us before ordering if you intend to use it for anything other than a straightforward engine lift, so we can confirm it is rated and rigged correctly for your application.
For a bare race engine, 1000kg is sufficient for most single-seater and saloon motorsport powerplants. A fully built production car will exceed this rating depending on build weight, so check the car’s actual weight before using this sling for a full-vehicle lift.
If you need a higher-rated sling, ask us. TRS makes lifting and lashing equipment in multiple weight ratings and 08A0010 is not the top of the range.
