A choker is a loop-and-tighten strap rather than a ratchet: one end loops around the axle or load, the working end feeds back through the loop, and the assembly tightens under tension from the winch or ratchet on the other end. The 4-metre length allows the strap to route around chassis tubes, under cage bars, or along the full side of a vehicle to reach a proper anchor point without running at a sharp angle that reduces the effective load rating.
At 2,000kg rated capacity, this covers most single-axle tow and restraint positions on a circuit car. Compare with the snap-hook ratchet straps in the range (MA630-0002 at 2,200kg, £18) if a ratchet-and-hook setup suits your trailer better. The individual short choker (23L5110, £10) is the 0.5-metre version rated to 3,000kg for close-to-axle use.
