The Takata Race Impreza GC8 Bucket Seat Package includes a Takata Race LE competition bucket seat with Impreza GC8-specific side mount brackets and a Takata Drift III Snap-On harness. The GC8 body code covers the first-generation Impreza produced from 1992 to 2000.

The GC8 is the Impreza generation that won four consecutive WRC Manufacturers’ Championships between 1995 and 1998. The STi Type RA variant deleted most of the interior sound deadening and came with gold BBS alloys, reducing kerb weight significantly. The rear suspension on the GC8 used a different design to the subsequent GD Impreza: drivers familiar with later Imprezas sometimes find the GC8’s tail behaviour different to what they expect, which is partly what gives the car its reputation as a driver development tool at club level.

Vehicle-specific side mount brackets in this package are sized for the GC8 floor geometry. The Drift III harness included is Road and Track approved, not FIA competition legal.

Package options: Seat Width (Standard or Excel Width), Sport Seat Position (RHD Driver Side or RHD Passenger Side), Webbing Colour (Black or Green). Subaru’s traditional blue and gold colour scheme pairs naturally with Takata’s racing green webbing; either colour option works in the GC8 interior.

What do I need to fit it to my car?

How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike. We keep the ranges on display in the showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and our head support measurements guide shows the kind of real-world data we collect.

Availability

The harnesses are stocked, the seats are not

Takata harnesses are produced in batches and we take deliveries weekly, so belts like the Drift III are generally kept in stock for fast dispatch.

Takata seats are a different matter. Each one is handmade to order to Takata specification and takes 4 to 8 weeks. They are not stocked items.

A seat built for your order falls under our special order terms. Tell us your date when you enquire and we will confirm the current production time.

In-store displays:

Due to the specialist nature of our services, we do ask that you please contact us in advance to book an appointment. We have multiple slots available each day including selected availability at the weekend.

Working by appointment allows us to dedicate our time with you and provide a personal and professional service. We’ll always ensure you leave with the right equipment for your needs.
