A sub-frame is the piece that makes an aftermarket seat bolt into a particular car. It picks up on the floor mounting points the factory seat used and presents a flat 345mm by 271mm pattern for the new seat to sit on. Without one you are into drilling floorpans and fabricating brackets, which is slow, and on a road car it is the part of the job most likely to be looked at hard by an inspector.
What fits it
Base mount seats on the 345mm by 271mm pattern. That is Sparco, and it is also OMP and Corbeau base mount seats, which share the spacing. Older copy on this range claimed the frames only take seats of the same brand. That was wrong, and it is worth correcting because it has put people off a perfectly good pairing.
It will not take a side mount competition bucket on its own. Those need side mounts or adaption bars on top of the frame.
Ordering
Sold singly, so one frame fits one seat. If you are doing driver and passenger, add it twice and pick the side each time. The frames are handed, so choose RHD driver or RHD passenger at the top of the page.
Tell us which seat you are fitting when you order. Some frames in this range are complete replacement frames and some are adaption bars that work with what is already in the car, and the photograph cannot show which yours is. We would rather check it before it ships than have you find out on the drive.
