Not every seat insert job starts from nothing. Some drivers already sit in a shell that mostly fits and only need the insert to address specific pressure points, add a small amount of height under the base, or bring the sides in slightly where the cockpit is a fraction too wide. The 15-litre Real Race kit, part RE-RDK-08-010, is the smallest volume in the range and is the right starting point when the task is refinement rather than filling a large void.
At this size the kit is also the most accessible entry point to the Real Race process. For a driver sitting in a seat that came reasonably close out of the box, 15 litres is enough to correct the specific areas that need it without overspending on surplus material. It is not sufficient for a full cockpit infill in any open-cockpit car or large single seater. For those applications the range starts at 30 litres and runs to 90 litres for the largest cockpits.
The process: position the liner in the seat and let the driver settle into it. Mix the poly-beads and slow-cure resin with the included black pigment, then add the mix to the liner. The driver holds the correct position while a vacuum pump draws through the attached valve to hold the liner to that profile during curing. The slow cure rate gives time to confirm the position before the resin goes in, which is the main practical advantage over two-part foam. The vacuum pump and hose are not included and are sold separately. The finished insert is covered with the included fire-retardant anti-bacterial brushed nylon fabric and adhesive, or with the Real Race spacer fabric covering for a more breathable surface in a warm cockpit.
If you are not certain the 15-litre volume is enough for what the cockpit needs, call us with the car and we will advise on the right kit size. Lead time on Real Race insert kits is typically 3 to 5 working days from order.
