OMP race seat fabric cleaner, 500ml. Part number PC02007.
A cleaner formulated for the fabrics competition seats are actually trimmed in: velour, Airtex, spacer fabric and the technical weaves that a general household upholstery cleaner is not made for. That matters more than it sounds, because the wrong product on a technical fabric can leave a residue that clogs the weave, and the whole point of a breathable seat cover is that air moves through it.
Why bother
A competition seat absorbs sweat every time it is used, and in a car shared between drivers that adds up quickly. Left alone it goes hard, it smells, and the fabric wears faster where it has stiffened. Cleaning a seat properly two or three times a season is the difference between a shell that lasts and one you replace early over the trim rather than the structure.
It is also worth doing before a seat goes on a for sale advert. A clean seat photographs like a seat that has been looked after.
Before you use it
Test on a small area out of sight first, particularly on a light coloured or patterned trim. And check the seat manufacturer’s own guidance if the seat is homologated, because some approved trims have specific instructions.
500ml goes a long way on a seat.
