ABE, and why that word matters
This is the ABE version of the Pole Position. ABE is the German road approval, which makes the seat road legal. It is not FIA homologation.
Recaro also make an FIA version of the same seat, and the two get confused constantly because they look almost identical. If you compete in anything scrutineered to FIA rules, the ABE seat will not pass, and finding that out on the morning of an event is an expensive way to learn it. Tell us what you need the seat for and we will make sure you get the right one.
For fast road use and track days, where no homologation is required, the ABE version is the sensible buy and costs less than the FIA seat.
What is in it
The Pole Position in a fibreglass shell trimmed in vinyl and suede, on Recaro side mounts and Evo specific frames. Side mounted, so the seat sits as low as the car allows.
The mounts are Recaro’s own. Recaro side mounts are made for Recaro shells rather than to a shared pattern, so they are not interchangeable with Sparco, OMP or Cobra mounts. That is the reason to take the package rather than assemble it from parts you already have.
Before you order
A fixed back bucket gives you no adjustment once it is bolted in, so send us your height and we will work out where you will sit first.
