This is a real Mercedes CLA AMG seat, taken out of the car and rebuilt as an office chair by GC Autofurniture. Part number GC43NAK1241.
The donor is the AMG sports seat, so what you are sitting in is the seat Mercedes built for the car rather than a copy of it. The AMG badge is stitched into the backrest above the shoulder line, the centre panels are the ribbed fabric AMG ran against the leather bolsters, and the red stitching follows the seams and the cushion sides the way it did in the car.
How it is converted
The seat is mounted on a polished five arm base with castors and a gas lift column. Armrests are added as part of the conversion, because a car seat does not come with them, and they adjust for height. The seat keeps its own manual adjustment on the base of the cushion, so the recline works as it did in the car.
These chairs are built one at a time from whatever seat has been sourced, which is worth understanding before you order. GC Autofurniture take specific vehicle seats and convert them, so the trim, the stitching colour and the exact seat variant are what came out of that car. It is a heavy chair and it feels like one. A car seat carries more frame and more foam than office furniture does, and that is most of the appeal.
If the appeal is the shape rather than the badge, the sports seat conversions on the Corbeau and Cobra office chairs cost a good deal less and come in new trim of your choosing.
