The Volkswagen Passat built from 1999 onwards covers the B5 and B5.5 generations, running through to 2005. The B5 shares a platform with the Audi A4 B5 and uses longitudinal engine mounting, which is different from the transverse layout of most VW products of the same period. The V6 4Motion, the 1.8T with quattro, and the W8 variants are the performance-oriented versions, and the platform appears occasionally in touring car and stage rally events. The longitudinal engine placement gives the B5 floor a different tunnel geometry from the transverse-engined B3 and B4 Passats, and the fixing positions are further changed by the quattro rear differential on all-wheel-drive variants.
This Corbeau sub-frame is matched to the 1999-onwards Passat floor layout. The kit uses the car’s original floor fixing positions and positions the Corbeau seat at the correct height for that floor geometry. Depending on the configuration Corbeau have developed for the B5 floor, the kit may be a complete replacement frame with sliding runner or adaptation brackets.
