Direct fit sub-frames for the Volkswagen Bora Mk4, from Corbeau, 245. Made for this car, and bolting to the seat mounting points already in its floor.

The Bora is a Golf Mk4 with a boot

It shares the Mk4 Golf floor, so the frame is the same design and the same price. Corbeau list the Bora frame under its own name because people search for the car they own, and the Mk4 Golf frame is sold separately. Either way, the registration confirms it.

The Golf Mk6 and Mk7 frames are also 245 and the Mk8 is 289.50. None of those fit a Bora, however close the badges look.

Direct fit

Uses the factory mounting points, no drilling, seat at a height that suits it. The Mk4 platform sits the driver high, so a proper seat on a proper frame makes a noticeable difference to how the car feels.

Fitting notes from Corbeau

The picture is generic. Your car may get a complete replacement frame or a runner and bracket set for the base that is already there. Each kit has its double locking runners with it and covers one seat, so the other side is a second kit. Who it is for: a base-mounted Corbeau seat, either a Sportline recliner or a Classic bucket. If your seat side mounts, this is not the frame for it, according to Corbeau; ask us and we will point you at the right mounts.

What will be in the box? There are several types of seat frames which may be supplied depending on the vehicle and application. You may receive 1 of the following 4 types. If you are using them with a certain seat, please contact us in advance for professional advice.

#1. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner and resisitor kit
#2. A full replacement frame with a sliding runner
#3. A full replacement frame only
#4. An adaption bracket kit

Additional seat belt brackets: Each seat frame can be used for a variety of applications including road car reclining seats throuh to Motorsport FIA seats. Seat belt brackets are not required in a range of application so manufacturers generally do not supply them with their frame kits. If you require seat belt brackets please contact us in advance

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points. 

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Corbeau frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

FIA bucket seats are built to order, typically 3 to 7 days from the day you order. Kevlar and carbon shells take longer, so ask us if you are working to a date.

Reclining sport seats are also made to order in your chosen trim, and run to a similar timescale.
