Wet lay carbon
Wet lay is the hand laid carbon process, where the resin goes in as the cloth is laid rather than being pre impregnated and cured under pressure. It gives a genuine carbon shell at a lower price than a pre preg autoclave part, which is why this sits where it does in the range.
The gain over fibreglass is stiffness and appearance rather than a weight saving our data can evidence, so buy it for how it feels under load and how it looks, and ask us if a specific weight matters to your build.
The low back
Our listing records the Speedster shell at 700mm against 910mm for the full height Nogaros, and specifies it for drivers under 6ft where the others are cut for over 6ft.
That suits a low roofline, an open car, or a driver who does not need the shoulder height. It does not suit a tall driver looking for harness slots above the shoulder line, which is the full height shell’s job.
