A recliner rather than a bucket, and why that suits this car

A Mk2 TT is a car people drive properly and also drive a long way in. A fixed back competition shell is poor company on the second of those: no adjustment, harder entry through a coupe door aperture, and cold in winter.

The Misano reclines, so it stays usable, while giving far more lateral hold than the standard seat. That is the argument for it here, and it is a better one than a bucket makes.

The trim

Any one or two colour leather with matching or contrasting stitching, diamond quilted cross stitching to the centre panels, and a carbon backrest. Hand trimmed in the UK to your specification.

Before you order

885mm tall, 590mm wide, 620mm deep on a 520mm base, at 11.5kg. Base mount at 291mm x 330mm. 4 point harness compatible. Road and Track approved rather than FIA homologated.

A Mk2 TT seat carries a side airbag and, on the passenger side, occupancy sensing. Sort that before you start rather than after, and tell us the year so we can confirm what your car needs.

Fibreglass back, steel base

The Misano is a hybrid rather than one material throughout, and that is deliberate. A reclining mechanism needs a rigid, accurately made metal base to work properly and keep working; a backrest wants to be light and stiff, which is what fibreglass is for.

Most reclining seats are steel all the way up and heavier for it. Combining the two is harder to engineer and it is the reason this seat sits where it does in the range.

Will I fit in this seat?

Each seat is built to the specification you choose, which is why the wait is what it is: on average around 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the trim and options.

Cobra do not allow queue jumping. Orders are produced in the order they are received, so the earlier yours is placed the earlier it is built.

Made to your specification

Because each seat is made for your order rather than picked off a shelf, a made-to-specification seat cannot be cancelled once it is in production, and our special order terms apply.
