A pair of Sparco Evo QRT competition seats in Sky vinyl. Part number 008007RNRSKY-X2.
The Evo is the standard width shell in the QRT range and the most widely fitted seat in it. Sky is the vinyl trim, and choosing it over the usual fabric is a practical decision rather than a cosmetic one.
Vinyl wipes clean. In a rally car, on a hillclimb car, or anything that lives outside or gets climbed into in wet overalls, a fabric seat absorbs everything and never really recovers. Vinyl takes a cloth and carries on. What you give up is breathability on a hot day in a closed car.
Specification
Fibreglass with QRT technology, which Sparco quote at around 30 per cent lighter than their standard fibreglass. FIA 8855-1999, fixed back, side mount, four and six point harness compatible, black.
Sizing
The Evo is narrower than people expect. If you are broader than average, tell us your measurements and we will point you at the Evo L or the XL instead.
What else you need
Approved side mounts and a vehicle specific sub-frame per seat. An approved seat needs approved mounts to stay an approved installation.
Ask us to read the manufacture date off current stock, because an FIA seat expires on a date tied to when it was made.
Have you written anything about this exact product?
Yes, we have covered this exact product: Which Sparco Evo QRT Seat Is Right For You?, and Sparco Evo QRT X Waterproof Bucket Seat Built for Grip and the Elements. That is first-hand coverage from our own builds and showroom, not brochure copy.
Will I fit in this seat?
Send us your height and waist size and we will confirm the fit. The paper dimensions only tell half the story, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so you get the honest answer rather than a guess from a chart.
Is it FIA approved, and for how long?
Yes, it carries FIA 8855-1999 homologation. Every FIA seat has a not-valid-after year printed on its homologation label, and that label date is what a scrutineer checks, so look at the label on the seat you receive and check it against your championship regulations. Buying new means you get the freshest label the maker currently produces.
Does it work with harnesses and a HANS device?
The shell takes 4 point compatible and 6 point compatible. If you are planning the full seat, harness, and HANS setup, tell us the car and we will spec it end to end.
How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Fair question, because makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike in the car. We keep the ranges on display in the Nottingham showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and if you cannot get to us, call and describe your build, as the team sit in these seats every day. Our head support measurements guide shows the kind of real-world data we collect.
