The Lotus II-FE ASM is Schroth’s updated four-point harness for the Lotus Elise S1 and S2 and the Exige S1 and S2. This listing supplies a driver-and-passenger pair: part 91158A-0 and 91159A-0. The FE in the name stands for flexible end fittings, which is the main difference from the earlier Lotus II ASM at 91158-0/91159-0. Flexible ends means the strap attachment plates can be adjusted to suit the angle of the fixing point rather than requiring the point to align precisely with a straight fitting.
Elise and Exige owners who have fitted harnesses before will know that the factory structure in these cars creates specific routing constraints: the chassis tubes, the seat position and the narrow cockpit all limit where belts can pass and at what angle. The FE fittings accommodate that geometry more readily than a fixed end.
Four-point layout: two 3-inch shoulder belts and two 2-inch lap belts at a clip buckle. The ASM system (Schroth’s anti-submarining mechanism) holds the lap section down correctly under braking. Installation can be bolt-in to fixed mounting points or wrapped around the chassis structure, depending on the specific car’s configuration. Both methods are covered by the FIA 8854-1998 approval this harness carries. NOT HANS compatible.
The available colours are black and red. The Sport Seat Position attribute confirms driver side (91158A-0) and passenger side (91159A-0) are both included in this listing.
The earlier Lotus II ASM at 91158-0/91159-0 uses the same four-point layout with fixed, straight-end fittings. If your Elise or Exige mounting points are in a straightforward position, the standard fitting may be adequate; if the angle or clearance is tight, the FE version saves fitting time and avoids any strap twist at the anchor.
