Two Sabelt 4 Point Clip In Harnesses, part number CFCC904070NP-B-X2, Road and Track rated. Both 2-inch webbing throughout. Clip buckle. Clip-in installation. Not HANS compatible. Price of £200 covers both harnesses. Available in black, blue and red.

Road and Track approval means these are not FIA competition-approved harnesses. The twin pack suits track day operators running two-seat cars, driving experience businesses equipping both seats, or drivers who want to set up two cars identically at the same time.

Clip-in installation threads the shoulder straps around a crossbar or harness bar behind the seat rather than bolting to fixed points. The 4-point layout adds a lap belt on each hip compared to a 3-point, providing better lateral restraint under hard cornering or braking.

The single-unit equivalent (172621, £100) is the same harness priced individually. At £200 for two, the twin pack is the same total cost as buying two separately; the convenience is a combined order rather than adding the item to the basket twice.

For a track day car used regularly with passengers, having matched harnesses in both seats avoids the situation of a passenger using a different or inferior restraint. Both harnesses in this pack are to the same specification.

If competition use is planned, the Steel Race/Rally 3×3 6 Point (CFCI1335S633S) is the FIA 8853-2016 approved step up.

Harness size and fitting guide

Harnesses are not sized to your body. They adjust to fit almost anyone. What you are actually choosing is the number of points, the approval, how it mounts in your car, and whether it works with a head restraint. Get those four right and the fit looks after itself.

How many points

Type We stock Typical approval What it is for
3 point 23 Road and Track only Inertia and static road belts. Not competition kit
4 point 99 Mostly Road and Track, 27 on FIA 8854-1998 Fast road and track days. Simple to fit
6 point 77 Almost all FIA 8853-2016 Competition. Two sub straps stop you submarining
8 point 1 FIA 8853-2016 Specialist. Two extra shoulder straps
If you need an FIA harness, you are looking at a six pointOf the 77 six point harnesses we stock, almost all carry FIA 8853-2016, the current standard. Four point harnesses are mostly Road and Track, with 27 on the older 8854-1998. Every three point we stock is Road and Track. So the point count and the approval are tied together far more tightly than people expect.

Approvals

Approval We stock What it means
FIA 8853-2016 69 The current competition standard. Carries an expiry date on the label
FIA 8854-1998 30 The older standard, mostly on 4 point harnesses
Road and Track 88 Not competition approved. Fast road and track day use

FIA harnesses carry an expiry date printed on the label, and a scrutineer will look at it. Check how long is left before you buy, especially on discounted older stock. Road and Track harnesses have no expiry but they are not accepted for competition.

Strap width

Wider straps spread the load over more of your shoulder. Narrower straps are easier to route and easier to live with over a head restraint.

Combination We stock Notes
2 inch shoulder, 2 inch lap 112 The most common combination here
3 inch shoulder, 2 inch lap 38 Wider shoulders, standard lap
3 inch shoulder, 3 inch lap 36 The widest, spreads the load furthest
2 inch shoulder, 3 inch lap 5 Uncommon
Strap width does not tell you whether it suits a HANSIt is a common rule of thumb that a head restraint needs two inch shoulder straps, and our own range does not bear it out. Most of our HANS Specific harnesses are two inch, but nine of them are three inch, and most of our Not HANS compatible harnesses are two inch as well because that group is largely road belts. Filter on the HANS label below, not on the width.

Head restraint compatibility

Label We stock What to do with it
HANS Specific 45 Designed to be used with a head restraint. Start here if you run one
HANS Friendly 38 Works with a head restraint
Not HANS compatible 97 Mostly road harnesses. Do not pair with a head restraint

If you run a HANS or any FHR device, or you plan to, filter on HANS Specific first. It is a smaller list but it is the one where the shoulder straps are cut and routed to sit over the device properly.

How it mounts, and this is the one to check first

The installation type has to match what is already in your car. It is the most common reason a harness arrives and will not go in.

Installation We stock What you need in the car
Clip in 101 Snap hooks onto eye bolts. The quickest to fit and remove
Bolt in 67 Bolts straight to a threaded mounting point or a bracket
Wrap around 49 The strap wraps a cage bar and buckles back on itself
Loop fixings 7 A loop over a bar or bracket

Clip in is the most popular because it is quick and because eye bolts are cheap to add. Bolt in is the tidiest where you have threaded points. Wrap around is what you use on a cage where there is a bar in the right place and nothing to bolt to. If you are unsure what you have, take a photo of the mounting area and send it over.

Buckles

Two types across the range: 94 clip buckle and 83 aircraft buckle. A clip buckle is the lever type, quick to release with one hand and the usual choice on a road or track day car. An aircraft buckle is the rotary cam lock, which is what most competition harnesses use because it releases every strap at once with a quarter turn. Both are easy to use once you know them. The cam lock is faster in a hurry.

Getting the fit right once it is in

Shoulder straps want to come from behind you at or slightly below shoulder height, never from above. If they angle down onto your shoulders from a high mounting point they load your spine rather than your chest. On a saloon that usually means a harness bar or a cage, not the rear parcel shelf.

Lap straps go across your hips, low, not across your stomach. Pull the lap belt tight first, then the shoulders, then the sub straps. If you can get a flat hand between you and the shoulder strap it is not tight enough.

Send us a photo of the mounting pointsThe car, whether you have a cage or a harness bar, and whether you run a head restraint. Those three decide the harness far more than anything about your own measurements. Call 0115 989 3488 or email Sales@GSMPerformance.co.uk.

All counts read from our own product data across the harness categories, checked 2 August 2026. Counts change as stock moves, so treat them as a guide to where the range is deep.

Is this harness legal for competition?
This one carries Road and Track rather than current FIA homologation, so check your championship regulations before buying it for competition. For road and track day use, that is not a problem. Ask us if you are unsure which your events require.

What does the strap width mean for me?
This is a 2 inch shoulder to 2 inch lap harness. The shoulder width choice interacts with whether you run a HANS device, and our guide on 3 inch versus 2 inch harnesses explains which to pick and why.

Do I need a HANS-specific harness?
No. Only 6-point FIA harnesses work with a HANS device: not 4-point belts, and not road harnesses, however good they are at their own job. This 4-point road and track belt is for use without a head and neck device; if you run or plan a HANS, look at the 6-point FIA HANS-pattern belts in the range and we will spec the right one.

What does it mount to?
A harness needs proper anchor points: a harness bar, cage, or the car’s designed mounting points, plus a seat with the right slots, and as a 4-point it needs each point anchored correctly. Tell us the car and seat and we will confirm the mounting plan before you order.

Availability

The popular Sabelt models are on the shelf

The GT-090 and the rest of the common range are generally in stock for immediate dispatch.

Other models, the Taurus XL among them, depend on what is in the country, so they either leave the same day or take a few weeks.

If you have a date

Ask us before you order and we will check the specific model rather than the range, because the difference between the two is the whole answer.
