Two Type AK seats in one order. Part number SS 74LR-GSM, £470 for the pair. Both seats are in black vinyl with red stitching, and both are priced together here for buyers who want driver and passenger confirmed in one transaction rather than ordering twice.
The AK uses the 405mm x 280mm bolt pattern, which is the wider of the two base-mount patterns in the Auto Style range. This is a different pattern from the 345mm that most of the reclining range uses. A 405mm frame is not interchangeable with a 345mm one without a spacer or a different adaptor. Tell us the car before ordering if you are not certain which pattern your existing frame takes.
Sliders are included with both seats. Vehicle-specific fitting frames are not; you will need one for each side. The AK is a reclining seat on a steel frame, Road and Track approval, all heights and all waist sizes. No headrest.
The red stitching distinguishes the AK from the standard range. The AK is also available with silver or yellow stitching as separate single-seat listings. At £470 the pair, this is roughly standard retail pricing across both seats rather than a bundle discount, so the advantage here is the combined order rather than a lower unit cost.
For a 405mm reclining seat on a smaller budget, the AK single (SS74, £235) is the starting point in this bolt-pattern family. The RK (SS73) and the VGR range sit above it on the same pattern.
Have you written anything about this exact product?
Yes, we have covered this exact product: Discover the Auto Style Type AK Reclining Sports Seat, and Auto Style Type Classic Bucket Seats Now Available to View In-Store. That is first-hand coverage from our own builds and showroom, not brochure copy.
Will I fit in this seat?
The maker lists no driver size restriction on this seat, so it suits the full range of heights and waists. Those are the paper numbers; how a seat actually feels to sit in and climb out of is a different question, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call us with your height and waist and we will give you the honest answer.
What do I need to fit it to my car?
You need the car-specific frame for your vehicle, plus a sliding runner for fore-and-aft adjustment. Tell us your car and we will quote the complete fitting kit in one go. Our sliding runner guide covers the adjustment side.
Does it recline like a normal seat, and what about armrests?
Yes, the backrest reclines, which is the whole point of a sport recliner over a fixed bucket: support in the corners, comfort on the motorway, and access to rear seats. Armrests: not fitted on this model. Our recliner lineup comparison shows how the ranges stack up.
I am a bigger driver. Will it work for me?
Possibly, and it depends on the exact shell rather than the brand. We wrote a straight-talking guide on sport recliners for larger drivers from real showroom fittings, and if you send us your waist and height we will tell you honestly which recliners work at your size.
